Is there a better browser somewhere?

Some background info about possible issues with browsers on Ubuntu touch:
All browsers on Ubuntu touch have the same web engine (Qt WebEngine), which is responsible for rendering pages, so all browsers from the store will be affected by an issue of the web engine. Ubuntu Touch is currently based on Ubuntu 20.04, Qt 5.15 and thus is a little outdated.
There is progress for 24.04, Qt 6 and a new browser with a WebKit (apple's) web engine, but until any of them gets completed, you can install Firefox (or chromium) preferably from Waydroid. From my experience it is really nice but can drain battery a bit faster.Install a browser in Waydroid:
Install Waydroid from the Waydroid helper app. Then inside the android container install fennec (Firefox) from F-Droid or a chromium APK. Just use the browser you just installed.
It is really straightforward to install. -

@rogue_ronin There is a new browser in development:
https://ubports.com/de/blog/ubports-blogs-nachrichten-1/post/ubuntu-touch-q-a-144-3931, but it`ll take a while..Thank you! I will read up on it.

Much aloha!

Getting Chromium or UnGoogled Chromium would be fantastic.
It sounds more like these web sites just have problems, as QtWebengine, which is used in Morph/Sapot, is simply the Chromium engine, integrated into Qt.

Just seen today. More annoying yet : we can't see issues with morph or Sapot on gitlab ! Confirmed ?
-
@domubpkm Seems like it
I'm still in OTA-4 though. -
@kugiigi yes. It's a shame that we can't even view UBports' gitlab repos anymore!
-
We need proper Wayland support for Libertine apps so we can maybe use Firefox
-
@kugiigi the usability issues with Firefox currently don't really have anything to do with it running under XWayland/XMir (except the hardware acceleration).
-
ufirefox would be great if it has clipboard and content hub and all the integration, i am using it sometimes from the latest build that was 5 days ago
-
@uxes Where can I find ufirefox?
-
-
@domubpkm well sure, but not every latest build is allright
https://gitlab.com/debclick/uFirefox/-/jobs/7676432640/artifacts/browse this should be pretty ok -
That would be so good (u)Firefox to become the main Ubuntu Touch browser...
-
@uxes Thanks for the details. The linked version of uFirefox works impressively on my GS5 Pro.
-
@Keneda uFirefox is still far from having an android-style mobile experience, although the work must be commended. As the developer said on Gitlab, there are many gaps to fill : https://gitlab.com/debclick/uFirefox/-/issues/1 .

@Bolly Just saw it today, so I will give it a try.
