Since yesterday, the screen freezes very often. No more explanation.

Please test uninstalling the registered fingerprints and disabling the fingerprint sensor and restart the smartphone. Did everyone who has the problem have the fingerprint sensor enabled?

My second suspect is an app that I completely uninstalled.

In any case, stability is now perfect under OTA-5 since some days...

Thank you for thinking of me.
I have never used the fingerprint sensor and have not found any settings for it. Where are they?

            Which app do you suspect?

After the OTA-5 update, i had the feeling that crazy volla had increased. but i was traveling and used the phone more intensively. Now i'm back at home and crazy volla is less frequent again at the moment. we should keep at it.

@Charly I will never throw an app on the forum!! Especially if the problem does not come from there, i'm not sure. I will give you the name in a private message but above all never mention this app negatively on the forum. Okay ?

I have problems with these "ghost touches", too. I tried to find a way to disable the fingerprint sensor, but I cannot find anything about this on my Vollaphone or in the internet. Where can I disable the fingerprint sensor?
Has someone found a solution for the ghost touches problem yet?

@musicologist You could try Settings -> Security & privacy -> Locking and unlocking -> Lock security and then toggle off the switch for fingerprint under Biometrics.

@Ian , thanks! I found out that Biometrics are disabled on my phone and that there is no finderprint ID installed. So the finderprint scanner cannot be the reason for the ghost touches.

Has anyone found a solution (or a workaround) for the ghost touches problem? (The funny thing is: I already owned my Volla for a year before the problem surfaced. Now, with time or with each update, the problem seems to get worse)

@musicologist I have a Vollaphone X running 20.04 OTA 5 and I do not see this problem. It was also OK on 16.04.

@Ian , maybe it's a problem of the original Vollaphone and not of Vollaphone X. Or something, which we did not find out yet, triggers this problem after some months of usage. I also did not have these problems from the start.

                              Hello,

I had the same problem with ghost touches on my Volla phone. The support advices me to wash the display. I did and it did not help. They asked me to send it to the service. I did and I spent quite high shipment expenses. I hoped they replace my display. Unfortunately, they returned me the device sauing they washed the display and reflashed the software. I did not believe any of these could fix the problems, so I put the phone into the shelf and do not us it any more. I thought it was because they would like to save the money for display replacement in warranty, but as I read this tread further, they probably even have the replacement parts? Really worth byuing such device.

Regarding the bluetooth, I have quite different problems. It was working like a charm with BQ Aquaris phone with my Volkswagen, but I was not able to pick the phone when using Volla. If I did it on the phobe, the remote party was able to hear me, but I was hearing the ringing in my car still. Even the latest software does it like this.

                              Very strange.

@musicologist Some users reported in the Volla forums that it was caused by some SIM cards (e.g. https://forum.volla.online/viewtopic.php?p=5791#p5791 ). Can you test drive your Vollaphone without the SIM card and see if the ghost touches go away?

The thread you mention is related to Volla x23. These complains are related to Volla phone. Apparently german customers get phone replacement or display replacement in warranty. Not so for us, second category customers getting only display washing and software reflash as a warranty service.

I did not use the phone as a daily driver since repair and had not any SIM in it since then. But I used it only maybe for 30 minutes since that time. So even I have not hit the ghost touch issues since return from service it is very hard to confirm ir is repaired. It was not so frequent even before the sevice. I personally doubt it is repaired. I also doubt the issue is related to SIM cards. I used the phone for more than year before the issue started with the same SIM cards.

I was so upset by the Volla approach to the service I bought Siemens phone complementary to Volla 22 phone, reflashed it using Volla 22 ubports image and I do not observe any ghost touches using the same SIM cards I used in Volla phone.

@grepo I understand that you are angry about the service. By Siemens, you probably mean Gigaset GS5?

I am not 100% sure, but the Siemens GS5 is probably the one.

Yes sorry for that. I was aware Gigaset is not any more part of the Siemens, but my synapses somehow revived interconnections. I did not even noticed I duplicated the fault second time. Hmm, it is 16 years already? I am too old 🙂

@sven , following your advice, I removed the SIM card and restarted the vollaphone. The problems did not go away. I restarted again and tested again in a time of about 24 hours. The result was that the problems did not go away.
Now I use my vollaphone with the SIM card again. But I really must find a solution, because as time goes on the phone gets more and more unusable.
