        Hello everyone,

I would like to report that I have not received any cell broadcast for today's "Warntag" in Germany on my Fairphone 5 with Ubuntu Touch 24.04.1.0 Beta 2.
My Android phone was able to receive a total of 7 (wow?!) broadcasts without any problems.

I checked the journal and the only potentially relevant lines around the time of the broadcast I could find are:

        Sep 11 11:00:09 ubuntu-phablet ofonod-wrapper[2018]: [81B blob data]
        Sep 11 11:00:09 ubuntu-phablet ofonod-wrapper[2018]: [19B blob data]
        Sep 11 11:00:09 ubuntu-phablet ofonod-wrapper[2018]: [28B blob data]
        Sep 11 11:00:09 ubuntu-phablet ofonod-wrapper[2018]: [166B blob data]
        Sep 11 11:00:09 ubuntu-phablet ofonod[2018]: [252B blob data]
        Sep 11 11:00:12 ubuntu-phablet ofonod-wrapper[2018]: [44B blob data]
        Sep 11 11:00:12 ubuntu-phablet ofonod[2018]: [30B blob data]

Grepping the journal for "CBS" gave no results...

Does anyone know what settings I could set to hopefully debug this further next year?

@_JCM_ Intrestingly my Volla with 20.04 also didn't receive a message via CB, and I'm pretty sure that it has worked last year...

@kristatos I got my warning as a notification message and in the SMS app. I am under 20.04 and use a Pixel 3a. So it could also be a problem with some network providers.

@johndoe Last year I got 2 SIM-cards in that phone (one netzclub which is using O2 and one T-Mobile), this time I have only 1 card inserted (congstar which is using T-Mobile). My journalctl also doesn't contain anything related to CB. Maybe @lduboeuf does have an idea?

Volla Quintus with 20.04 stable and a blau.de sim card. No alert at all.

My Doogee T10s with phhusson's AOSP GSI and no sim card did get the alert.

There is a WIP that we can see here https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/packaging/ofono-sailfish/-/merge_requests/32

                  Could be the same issue.
What was your network at that time ? ( gsm, umts, lte )?

How can I find out my current network type?
I have "2G/3G/4G/5G" selected in the mobile settings and did no have mobile internet active at the time of the broadcast.

@_JCM_ We had one on the UK on Sunday that also did not come through on my FP5 running 24.04 daily builds. That gets a good signal on 5g at home. An android phone on the same network in the same house got the signal.

if terminal don't afraid you, you can get it with:
                          /usr/share/ofono/scripts/get-tech-preference

@lduboeuf Running /usr/share/ofono/scripts/get-tech-preference outputs Technology preference: nr.

Running /usr/share/ofono/scripts/get-serving-cell-info tells me Radio Access Technology = lte, but I don't know if that helps 😅
