Thank you everyone for answering my questions as I was learning about UT. Here is the published review:

Best,

@theprivacydad Looks great!
Here's a small but important typo:
UT fully optimised for Google Pixel 3
It's not. That's the Google Pixel 3a.
I did enjoy reading about your adventures, even if UT is not what you landed on. By the way, did you know that we have a functional KeePass app now, and there is a Signal Desktop port on the way? Things can certainly move fast!

@theprivacydad
Before there were no "daily" channel, that was the "dev" channel.
Don't know the purpose of the name change. -
@Moem Thanks for spotting that. I have fixed it. I will check out KeePass and Signal soon!
-
@Keneda I think the main thing is that the stable channel should come up as the default. Being new to UT, I clicked right past that menu and ended up having a few puzzling days with UT, before figuring out what had happened.
-
I think this is a recent issue on the installer. I believe it defaults to stable before.
-
Thanks for sharing your experience with UT!
I also had a hard time in the beginning. It took me and a friend alone 3 days to install it.
With windows 10 we desperately failed.
To wait one week, before Xaomi opened the boot loader, it made things not easier.
On Linux Mint than we succeed.With the community I made the same experience like you: they are very supportive.
After they told me about waydroid, things went easier. It made it possible, to use it as my daily smartphone.
I love the idea of a open source system, what is build neither on android nor iOS.
This is my motivation, to go thru the challenges and stay on UT.My impression is, that there is a lot of potential with in the community and the developers.
I think, more sooner than later UT it will grow exponential.In the last Q&A (176) Marius said, he will build a group, that sort out, how to optimize UT for the normal user.
I am confidant this will bring the system way more forward, in terms of usability. -
@bunt7 Thanks! What is your experience like using Waydroid daily? Does the battery go quicker?

I made the suggestion here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/11285/suggestion-put-stable-channel-as-default-in-ubports-installer?_=1761672248369

Signal
By the way a Signal app was just published. It is in early state of development though, and will improve progressively in the coming month.

With the change to UT I also changed to the Xiaomi pocco X3. The batterie of the Pocco is huge in compare to my smartphone before. So I am happy anyway. -
@pparent Awesome!
