Thanks for sharing your experience with UT!

I also had a hard time in the beginning. It took me and a friend alone 3 days to install it.
With windows 10 we desperately failed.
To wait one week, before Xaomi opened the boot loader, it made things not easier.
On Linux Mint than we succeed.

With the community I made the same experience like you: they are very supportive.

After they told me about waydroid, things went easier. It made it possible, to use it as my daily smartphone.

I love the idea of a open source system, what is build neither on android nor iOS.
This is my motivation, to go thru the challenges and stay on UT.

My impression is, that there is a lot of potential with in the community and the developers.
I think, more sooner than later UT it will grow exponential.

In the last Q&A (176) Marius said, he will build a group, that sort out, how to optimize UT for the normal user.
I am confidant this will bring the system way more forward, in terms of usability.

I liked to do something for UT and to maybe can use Signal soon, so why not!?
I am not a programmer, so this was one thing I cut do.
I formulated it in a positive and constructive way, so I am happy with it.

Ok, this was what I didnt understand, that I have to install Molly in the waydroid container.

Done! Thanks a lot for helping me!

Now I can (nearly*) leave the android universe and move to Ubuntu touch.

With the change to UT I also changed to the Xiaomi pocco X3. The batterie of the Pocco is huge in compare to my smartphone before. So I am happy anyway.

view weeks ago I started to switch from Android (Calyx OS) to Ubuntu Touch.
I use my smartphone also as a freelancer and need to relay on it.
I tried few Navigation Apps and Organic Maps works at its best for me. It is, in a good way, simple, to use.

I wrote to them, if they like to adapted it to UT.

I have no idea in programming, but I wanted to share the answer:

"Hi O.....

We would love to support the development of OM for UT more actively, but our resources are very limited. With enough donations or active contributors/developers the situation may change.

There's already the cross-platform C++ core, only the good UI should be developed on top of it (although it's a lot of work…)

What are your thoughts/ideas on that?

I can imagine, that Alexander is quite experienced, and together you will find good solutions.

If sombody else have ideas, I think is always good to hear and discuss them.

now Alexander Borsuk from Organic Maps seems to change his mint, and want to find a solution for UT.

Maybe is good to know, that this app is also avaible in F-Droid. So they seems (and write) to care about privacy.

He wrote: "Maybe we can start from building OM and distribute it via snap on all Ubuntu versions? Are you familiar with this process?"

I have now idea how to program apps, but it would be nice, if one of you support this progress and make the open store richer

I can't try it out yet, because I am one the road with no second smartphone.
Few days ago I wrote to Signal, if they adapt it to UT, but did not get an answer so far.
Because of your creation I don't know now, if I would like a positive answer from them.

So, my smartphone is a Xiaomi POCCO C3 NFC.

I tried to adjust an screenshot, but on Dekko 2, the mail with the screenshot to my laptop stuck in drafts, so I could not send it.

But imagen, that the line with the text massage is flat and not "zickzack" respectively "hilly".

A popup come for a second, to allow to use the microphone. But the second its to short to allow it.

In android i could open "apps" - "whatsapp" an "allow using the microphone". But on UT I could not find this adjustment.

On my old phone I used the dictaphone app a lot. But on UT it nether work.

Ok, I just reboot the phone, and now everything works.
Since I use UT (around two weeks), it change. Somtimes the microphone works, somtimes not.

But I can make calls all the time normaly.

I ask, because I would ask Signal, if there want to bring Ubuntu Touch forwards and create a version for it.
AppLee told me, there reject to do it, but it was a while ago. So there is nothing to loose to give them another try.
