Well, I'm using 26.04 build 101 with the same hardware and I would have expected to get about the same results but I don't.

-> I'm not sure what you mean by that (in fact I am sure I do NOT understand what you meant in your first point...) but clicking a link in a Dekko message works for me.

'camera video recording gets no access to "device", recording fails'
-> works for me

' local playback of previously recorded videos, teleport videos, etc. do not work'
-> playing a video from the Files manager works for me

' "breaks" in landscape mode
random gap in indicators
clock half-hidden by rounded corner
after rotating back to portrait -> broken there too'
-> confirmed: clock partially (not 'half', only the last digit out of 4) hidden by rounded corner in landscape mode. The rest works for me (no gaps in indicators in landscape mode, after rotating back to portrait, nothing is broken)

How can I find out if Morph has qt6 aka the newer chromium engine version?

@messayisto in morph, whatismybrowser.com should say chromium 134 if you're on qt6, or chromium 87 if not

I was on 26.04 some days ago, and I experienced the same issues.
But when I go back to 24.04-1.x, it (camera/morph) works again...

I'm not sure what you mean by that

So, when Morph is not running, I click a link in a Dekko message (dialog appears: "Do you want to open .... etc", I click "yes"), Morph splash-image appears and then it closes immediately.
When Morph is already running in the background, it is the same behavior, but the link is still getting opened, when I switch to the Morph-App.

Anyway, I guess I have to figure out, whats wrong on my end...

If I do a reinstall of 2.x daily (on a phone that is in list 2.) using the installer in order to get the QT 6 Beta AND I do not select the option to wipe, will it preserve the current 1.x version of Morph?

Are there libraries that I can look for using a shell to verify getting the 2.0 Beta (or its daily equivalent)?

p.s. I ask this because when I reinstall without wiping, all the apps I've installed are still there.

@Moem Thanks, but I need a way of finding out the version without using Morph itself because its not showing any website at all. only empty screen underneath the searchbar.

I think that from your 24.04-1.3 version you still have Morph-QT6 installed as an app from the store. You need to zap it (maybe restart the phone after that)

Surprised to hear so few questions about this: Will the new morph support lomiri location service? The morph beta from the store does not seem to, but it did appear to support geoclue last time I tried.

not sure what you are searching for, if you are under 24.04-2.0 morph is using qt6.
Try

which morph-browser

should return /usr/bin/morph-browser

then

ldd /usr/bin/morph-browser  | grep -i libqt

should return a bunch of linkings to qt6 libraries.

For camera:
I forgot, that I was running an experimental build of the camera app , sorry ... with the regular one, everything is working.

Video playback:
is working again, though I am not sure what solved it. I can't imagine that it has something to do, with the camera app.
But while investigating, I accidentally deleted all of my .config and .local files , so that may also be the cause of fixing it.

Same goes for Morph... the strange behavior on opening links from other apps is gone.

So I think your hypothesis might be right! Given that a patch was added in Maliit to "Verify an application has focus before granting it input", it seems possible that the XWayland windows are not detected correctly in Lomiri as giving the focus to the app and therefore block the virtual keyboard. This is only an hypothesis but seems very possible.

It makes me think as well that on the left panel we still have the X icon instead of the app icon, which seems a bit strange to me as the window does now have the right icon under it, on the spread view. But it might be another sign that the XWayland apps might never really get the focus, from Lomiri standpoint.
