          Hello @fredldotme
          How is mimi browser progressing?
When will the next focal compatible update be?
I think there is a lot of hope for this browser.
          Thanks

I understand the sentiment. But in actual reality this hope can only be realized if more people developers jump on board to help with the development.

So if anyone reading this knows some, encourage them to join.

@arubislander Obviously. Developers with Fred's skill level or with a very good skill level who want to invest in this project are probably rare, and it is an euphemism.

And yet UT will not survive in the long term without an up-to-date browser, this one or morph. My opinion.

@domubpkm I agree. What you are saying does not contradict what I am saying. Even things that urgently need doing, still need people to get them done. Either that, or other things that are even more urgent don't get done.

@arubislander But to be clear I wasn't talking about the UT project as a whole. That might indeed be a bit intimidating to jump in to. I was talking about the Mimi Browser project which has a much narrower scope, and might be more accessible as a project to start contributing to.

                    Hello,
many thanks to the many dedicated people who make Ubuntu Touch possible in the first place. I'm happy that Ubuntu Touch exists.

Unfortunately since months see the further development of ubuntu touch 20.04 silent, because almost all resources go into the development of 24.04. My x23 has some known bugs and I'm eagerly awaiting 24.04 in the hope that the bugs and new features will be worked on again.

I would be pleased if the status of 24.04 could be presented.
Maybe also with a non-binding timeline. How is the changed for the other applications?

                    Thanks a lot & Greetings
                    Charly

                    Greetings

@Charly You have asked the diamond question.

Status of UT version 24.04 which Literally hope to bring more features, improvements and more battery life to our devices. In addition to expanding Android version to be beyond Android 9 in order to give a chance to new model devices have a try for UT.

As I said in my post earlier. Not all devices might be available for service center for it such as Google Pixel phones.

                          Hello.
I'd like to know how the reviews published on the UBPort site are written (dated?) and if they could be revised.
For the Redmi 9 Pro, the review on the page: https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/joyeuse/ is as follows:
β€œUnder heavy development relying only on the device porters. Many features including basic functionality may not work.
It will be the task of the porter to commit the work needed to make the device reach the standards to become fully supported.
These devices are only for those who are prepared to take the risk of using them."

This is very personal but I've been using this smartphone for a year and a half as my only phone and I find Ubuntu Touch ( 1000 thanks to the porters and developers, I love you folks) easy to use, reliable, great.
This comment could be a deterrent for potential new users when the phone works perfectly, supports all the features and seems to me no more complicated than any other.
Thanks to Ubuntu Touch Team for OTA6!
                          Jean-Luc

@Jean-Luc-L I fully agree on this point. Redmi Note 9S Curtana - and so I guess all Redmi Note 9 series - are 100% fully ported, everything works incredibly well (after a small manual step to fix the vibrator).

Even "Hotspot" runs pretty well (as mentioned as "partially" on the device webpage).

I guess it could be mentioned as reliable as a FP4 or a Pixel 3a for instance.... πŸ˜‰

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the core team once again for the OTA-6. Perhaps we can also add this series of devices to the list of devices receiving the OTA update here?

Anyway, thank you so much to keep UT so great, and even better!
