I ran across Ubuntu Touch somewhere in last April or so, pretty much a year ago, and as I did not own any smartphone before, I was happy to be able to use one which is special. Too special to use it without thinking, but I got used to it.

Greetings to all members of the UBports community!
My name is Nika, and I am thrilled to join this community. I've been interested in the world of technology for a long time, and UBports has been a real discovery for me. Passionate about the idea of using alternative operating systems on mobile devices, I have decided to share my experiences and discuss topics of interest with you. I am eager to learn more about your projects and ideas, as well as to share my own experiences. -

Hello,
my name is Philipp, I'm 40 years old and am from Germany.I use UbPorts phone as a daily driver for now more than 6 and a half years. I just noticed today through this forum, I can't believe it myself. I experienced the good and bad stuff with it but I am satisfied.
I try to convince people that UbPorts is cool.

Hej everyone,
I'm vulpex running ubuntu touch focal dev since 2weeks on a fairphone 4.
Not new to Linux, I've been playing around with different distributions on different laptops over the last 10+ years.
(favorite because its convenient "mint")
(and because they teached me a lot "crunchbang/bunsenlabs)I'm really excited about ut I ran with android for far too long and so far I'm happy about how functional most of my attempts are, to just use my fp4 with this operating system daily.
I'd like to help, i know I'm not a coder or dev!
But I'm a user, with that little bit extra understanding and a ton of ideas.
And I changed os for a reason, so my ideas are more privacy and comfort/user related.
Non of the social apps and other shenanigans (Netflix or spotify)....More interested in a good music player (love the ut one, great sound even without eq or other presets. Just missing some functions like being able to scroll alphabetically like in the phonebook,
Song edit, amm).
File sharing and clients like soulseek and qbittorrent...
A stable webbrowser with all the little nibbles that one could ask for (Firefox or clones, iceweasel )
And ui suggestionsSo thanks to everyone contributing, scribbling, coding, fiddling around and of course asking questions. I believe as a community we can make these phones smart again!

Hi,
my name is Daniel and I'm a software developer from germany. At first - sorry for the long delay! I never introduced myself here although I'm a Ubuntu Touch user since march 2022. So I want to do this now.
At home, I'm using Linux Mint since july 2021, after windows update meant that my Notebook (an MSI with I7 processor) is not compatible to windows 11 So I switched to Linux. Since then, I have realized how important privacy and security are. I also enjoy the freedom to configure and use my system the way I think is best.
In 2022, I came from android and I needed a new smartphone. But I did not want to use android again, I wanted to use a linux-based system instead with an open eco system to develop apps and with convergence. So I tried Ubuntu Touch on my Google Pixel 3a and I never regret it! This is my daily driver and I am very happy to use a system that feels very comfortable, has a simple user interface and is not dependent from Google or Apple. It feels good that uNav does not track where you are
I also developed Touch IDE, a touch-friendly development environment. I know, the last update was 2023, but I'm going to continue this project. I have some ideas, I only need more time But it will go on.
So, thanks for all the hard work. I can't support at core development, but I am a very happy Ubuntu Touch user that can develop several apps and maybe give some ideas and help on several questions.
