      Hello UT users.

      I would like introduce myself.

My name is Salah, Syrian nationality living in UAE.

I am using Linux OS (Ubuntu mate) from 2016 till today and proud to have this bless.

I own Iphone x device for daily use, along side with NOKIA N900 form 2010 till day and still using it when traveling for call and text.

NOKIA N900 was the main reason to being introduced to Linux World. With best OS ever made by NOKIA.

Hope UT will have some ideas from it.

Recently (2 Months) I've purchased Google Pixel 3a XL to indulge myself with UT experience, which is great.

I hope in 24.04 version will have more control on the device and more access to system files for modifications and bunch of stuffs 👍 👍 👍 .

Re: Welcome to the UBports community! Introduce yourself here!

Former DBA and consulting IT project manager getting involved with Ubuntu Touch. Current platform is a Google Pixel 3a XL with U.S. AT&T prepaid service. I can only send/receive texts and browse right now...until I figure out how to perform the VoLTE updat.

Looking forward to helping. Not a great developer when it comes to software, but would like to try my hand at/learn about controlling hardware at the device level and can see myself helping with managing ports.

              Hi again @JDee-Intl

This gives context to my previous answer.
In order for you to attempt helping out the porter of your device, you'll need to set a development environment and be able to build an image from sources.
For this I highly recommend to check the porting documentation out:
              https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/porting/introduction/index.html

This way you'll better understand how it works and what is involved in this issue.

                    Hello everyone,

I am very happy to join this community, my name is Ermete, but I go by Il Dorato on here, you can call me either one. I came across Ubuntu touch because I was tired of using Android only. I wanted to free myself from any relations to corporations such as Google and liberate my phone hardware. Thanks to everyone involved in this wonderful project and I am excited to hopefully get a chance to meet and talk to some of you.

                          Hello,

I landed here while searching for ubuntu touch for samsung s21. Its not on the list of supported devices, but in case there are other efforts/work on this, I'd be interested.

                          Thank you

                              @gn-lin Welcome to the community!
It's volunteers who port devices, so unless you can port it yourself, which takes some doing, it won't happen for your device.
The easiest way to try out Ubuntu Touch is often to look for an affordable used device that's on the Devices list. But if you want to try your hand at porting, there's documentation available.

@wally Thanks. I am not sure I can do it on my own, but please point me to the documentation.
