        @Scotsman828 Greetings! 🤝

        How can you trust that an app really won't send some company your location data, when you tell it not to? The only way you can trust a program not to do something it isn't supposed to do is if it is free software. ~ RMS

          hey,

          I'm Sophie, 23 years old and currently diving into the world of IoT as part of my studies. I've been really curious about alternative mobile OSes lately, especially Ubuntu Touch

                Greetings from Florida, USA,
                I have installed Ubuntu Touch a couple of times already and I have to say its a lot more stable this time. As soon as I can find a phone this works on to make calls with Volte I will be daily driving it and dumping Android for good.

                Unfortunately I don't have any coding experience to contribute, but I do work in IT as a tech and have a few decades of troubleshooting and I want to help out. I am very much over Android/IOS at this point, and feel the time is right for a Linux phone to really shake things up given the current state of mobile OS. Plenty of experience with Ubuntu desktop having daily'ed it from Warty Warthog to Yakkety Yak, and I am still on Linux desktop, just another distro btw...

                    Greetings from Montreal, QC, CA
                    I'm Wolfgang, 22 y/o, originally from the USA, studying Chemistry in Montreal.
                    Until now I've mostly been a desktop Linux user but recently started using Ubuntu Touch on my google pixel 3a as a daily driver and am loving it!
                    Thank you so much to all of the developers! This is my second time trying to install it and this time it really feels functional as a daily driver.

                      I probably should have introduced myself here first. Hi, I am The Privacy Dad and I write a blog under that pseudonym (theprivacydad.com). I've been writing since 2022 about my experiences with privacy software, platforms, devices and good habits for me and for my family.

                      Last month I bought a second-hand Pixel 3aXL in order to try out UT. I have tried out a lot of mobile operating systems and feel excited and hopeful learning about Ubuntu Touch.

                      I cannot contribute technically, but I like to write and edit.

                            @wolfgang1 Welcome! Glad it's suiting your needs! Just note that the Pixel 3a doesn't have VoLTE working (some people are trying, but it seems tough), so it (mostly) won't work for phone calls if you're back in the USA, where 3G is shut down. Some areas might have 2G.
                            3G will sunset here too. Rogers, already, Telus (+Koodo, Public Mobile) Dec 2025, Bell (+Virgin, Lucky) Dec, 2026. Not sure about Videotron/Freedom.

                              @wally luckily I mostly call through whatsapp and discord which can use wifi. didn't realize 3G was going down in canada, and so soon no less. maybe ill get a burner phone number and use that for calls or get a phone that supports VoLTE if there are any that have succeeded
