I have OTA 5 and after going to Settings / Updates, I was offered to update "Ubuntu Touch" as if this was an app. After the update this "Ubuntu Touch" was marked as updated with "version 17".

Could anyone please tell me what "Ubuntu Touch version 17" is?

@ubuntoutou That is the version for your device and the update channel you are on. My OPO has version 565 for instance as its on the dev channel.
Dev channel gets daily updates so has high version numbers, rc weekly and stable approx every month or so man it has a,low version number.

@ubuntoutou to add to what @Lakotaubp said already, you can see here http://system-image.ubports.com/ubports-touch/16.04/ where that update version number comes from (click on the channel and device you're using).

@ubuntoutou and @Lakotaubp Thanks for your question and answer, as @obacht , I were also confused regarding the version-numbering.

Btw, are there some change logs available for the weekly RC changes?

@gmelchett hi, it seems having change logs is not an easy task, you can see why here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/1206/what-are-the-changes-in-releases

@advocatux Thanks for your answer! I expected that it is too much work to make change logs manually. Maybe I should write a script that git log --online on all gits and make a summary..
