Today scope without showing day scope
-
@Flohack I searched in the main window (Apps upper corner left) nothing; I looked under Manage, where the other scopes are, but nothing. I tried to remove it and reinstall it again. Nothing
phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ click list | grep day
com.canonical.scopes.day 1.5.2phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ ps auxww | grep scope
phablet 3374 0.8 0.7 384764 7476 ? Ssl 21:56 0:01 /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/unity-scopes/smartscopesproxy upstart
phablet 3441 0.1 0.7 352096 7304 ? Ssl 21:56 0:00 /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/unity-scopes/scoperegistry
phablet 6393 0.0 0.0 4848 676 pts/18 S+ 21:59 0:00 grep --color=auto scopeDo I need to install other scopes, because they are needed for the today scope?

@cherrie Ssorry if I miss understand but the click package only adds the missing day panel to the Today scope that is available in the Ubuntu app store, along with the task, events and news scopes etc that show up in it.
Ijust followed the instructions above and downloaded the click via the browser into the downloads folder and then ran the install command and all worked great or to put it another way as above tadaa! -
@Lakota Thanks a lot:
So it needs 2 things:- Install Today Scope from Ubuntu Store
- Install click package from Github repo https://github.com/mharrend/ubuntu-touch-day-scope using this command:
pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted Downloads/com.canonical.scopes.day_1.5.2_armhf.click - Reboot phone
- Add Today Scope by pulling in Apps Window the Window on top, locate Today, enable and drag to the top of the Scope list.
-
Yes thats what I did first install today scope from app store move to where you want it. Use the browser to find the click package download it to down loads folder and install with the command and thats should do it after a reboot.

@cherrie I have the "Today scope" from the Ubuntu Store installed on my OPO with UBPorts. The only element I haven't been able to add is the Day info, showing date + sunrise/sunset time, I think that was only made available on the official Ubuntu devices like Bq and Meizu, but I am not sure.
Does your Today scope include this or is the same that was found in the Ubuntu Store?
Thanks!

@tomoqv I use a BQ E4.5; My today scope shows: Day info, Sunrise & Sunset, Moon: Needs new API Provider;

Hi. What kind of release you use?

@GIEMME ubports-touch/15.04/stable; https://stats.ubports.com/

@cherrie Very cool, works on OPO to! Same with the moon info though, needs a new provider.
Thanks!

So we now have a vorking today scope, that is very cool.
Does any one know if ti would be possible for today scope to update content automatically without you having to swipe down. -
Hi, on my BQE4,5 it shows Day info and Week number, Sunrise & Sunset: no information:(
S -
@Knalli73 Pull down on the today scope page to refresh it that should fix it
-
@Lakota I tried that already with no result, now I tried again with Location service enabled and everything is fine:) If I’m not wrong former version didn’t need Location service to fetch Sunrise, Sunset.
Thanx S -
@Knalli73 Hey ,
The location serivces were needed for the previous version too, however once you get the results once it will be cached for the entire day... (at least this the behavior in the current version ).

@Flohack Sorry, for the late reply. I have never provided something for the OpenStore but I will look into it and will try to publish the package also there.
The submission of the click package to the OpenStore needs a manual review, so I contacted the OpenStore managers and hopefully, the package will be available soon. I will post a message here then.

@sverzegnassi The new UX default Scope / screen mockup looks very nice.
Nonetheless, even though that the Scopes idea will be dumped, I would expect that we would like to show at least same information as before on the UX default screen. Meaning we will keep the function code of the Scopes and will throw away the UX parts.
So, when would you expect to get the new UX default screen running? How would we migrate from the Scopes to the new screen causing as less as possible loss of functionality (since at least IMHO some of the functionality of the scopes is really helpful)? -
