@wangqinfeng English only, please. You were warned (https://forums.ubports.com/post/20729) and that's why I removed your post. Thank you for your understanding

Hi,
I dont think we can make an estimation based on downloads. We could make one by seeing how often our core image has been downloaded, but then still we would need to add some kind of unique token to make the number more precise. Since we do not want to store any data that can be used to identify individual users, as much as possible, we won´t go that way.
So the answer is: We don´t know. It will be a few thousand maybe, probably not more than 5.000, as daily drivers. But it´s just my wild guess

@Flohack Cheers Florian. That number seems rather low. Hopefully it booms one day.

@Opolork Yeah its low. But the main reason is that we do not support newer devices. Once that is cleared, we will see more users.

Great that we have an OS / System which do not grab identity as much as possible.
Instead of thinking of "How many people use UT", we shall (all) start concentrating on "The People who wanted to migrate to UT" based on PRIVACY and other exclusive features of UT.

Exact, that's one of my reasons, why I am not using Ubuntu on my Smartphone anymore.
I don't like to bring always two phones with me. One UBports and one with power and good hardware. -

The problem is rather and above all that UT does not support some cheap (50-200 €) and purchasable devices in new condition as there are hundreds of models for android.
Many people do not like to buy second-hand electronic equipment because of uncertainty about the state of operation and durability.
Fortunately pinephone should be a big step in the right direction.

In the UK there are still unused Nexus 5 phones available for about £100.

@cj_c Yes, it is, (very few items though), thanks for reminding it.
But it's still very little visible to most people. And also, it's shipping from Hong Kong, for free, delivery estimated "between Fri. 19 Jul. and Fri. 30 Aug".
Otherwise, £24.90 more and still not very soon, delivery "Estimated between Mon. 15 Jul. and Wed. 31 Jul". -
It does seem to me though that there is a steady stream of people asking for help with porting devices... Perhaps that seems like a negative thing - UT is a struggle to get working for some - but on the other hand it shows that a significant number of people are interested enough to give it a go.
