Most stable phone for Ubuntu Touch??
-
@Giiba I don't have that kind of experience with my Nexus 5. The only app that gives me sometimes troubles is the dialer.
On the other hand, I have the feeling that making a clean 16.04 install makes the things better than upgrading the device from 15.04 (YMMV).

@advocatux Interesting point.
I was surprised to read people crashing with the N5.
I was using it for a month or two as my daily driver and had no issues whatsoever with anything crashing.
I am no heavy user mind.
I did do a clean install at the time.
Edit: had to use a different phone though as I need the BT.
So picked up a OPO and will progress on to that when BT is sorted. -
@Lakotaubp Thank you sir!!!!

@Grarea I would love to get the BQ Aquarius phone....too much money though. Just want a good phone, don't need the latest and greatest.

It is good to hear others have better luck with the n5. Mine is in the 'super old' (for a smart phone) category having been through three batteries and looking like it so it probably is not representative anyways. I found increasing the swap file size dramatically improved the stability for what that is worth.

@Giiba Interesting. As a comparison, I think mine has been 'lightly used'.
I picked it up this year, but it seems in pretty good order.
Is tidy and the battery holds pretty well. -
@Nathan123 I am not a heavy user. Pretty basic user.
I have just picked up a Oneplus One and am busting to put UT on it, but I shall have to wait.
The N5 is about half the price I would say of the OPO, but you get more ram, and WAY more storage. But to my mind, that allows me to play with the N5.
I am looking to tape an extra battery to the back of the N5 when i get a chance to try to increase its capacity
Can use it as a UT test bed too hopefully. -

How is this done? I have a swap of only 31mb on my N5 which is full at the moment. I noticed possible memory issues when browsing lots of mages in the browser or using uReadIt for example.

@RandomUser yes I'd like to know how to do that

The only device I used and I still use it heavily as a daily driver is the Pro 5 and I recommend it with all my heart!
