I was using it on a N5 for a month or two as my daily driver.
I am not a heavy user, but used it for calls, texts, internet (emails and browsing)
Screenshots, podcasts.
I was really enjoying it.
Never had any problems at all with it at all.
Some of the apps are still work in progress, but I had enough apps that work perfectly fine for what I need.
I spend all day in a van though and the BT not working properly is what stops me from using it.
I have picked up a OnePlus 1 as well. Using LineageOS on that until the BT works out.

RE: Most stable phone for Ubuntu Touch??
@advocatux Interesting point.
I was surprised to read people crashing with the N5.
I was using it for a month or two as my daily driver and had no issues whatsoever with anything crashing.
I am no heavy user mind.
I did do a clean install at the time.
Edit: had to use a different phone though as I need the BT.
So picked up a OPO and will progress on to that when BT is sorted.

RE: Could I get some beginner advice please?
OK, it looks like I need to give up on this. I just can't work out what to do.
I can't seem to do what the twrp guide says.
Then if I ignore that and hope that my TWRP is new enough I can't seem to work out what to actually do.
I clearly am not smart enough to understand enough of the words.I will do something else instead.
Cheers. -
RE: Could I get some beginner advice please?
@MrT10001
Absolutely amazing, thank you very much.
No wonder I couldn't work out what to do.Yes, I picked one up specifically with the aim of joining in the fun of UT, but life blah blah blah (oh, and needed BT)
OK, sorry, I am much less able than you give me credit for I kind of get stuck straight away.
I have TWRP already, but assume it is an old version, so searched how to download to Nexus 5. I am stuck already.I can't work out what to do. I have downloaded Hammerhead to pc, then am stuck.
I kind of keep following links. I thought I was following the right guide, but now I can't even access folders on phone when plugged into pc. -
Could I get some beginner advice please?
A few years ago, I installed UT on a Nexus 5 and a Oneplus One, but I needed Bluetooth, so disappointed, i stopped using it.
I now want to repurpose the Nexus 5 and would love to put UT on it.
Now, since then, it had LineageOS on it and then I must have done something as that doesn't load either anymore, it has then sat in a cupboard for a few years.
I have read a few things that I should do before installing UT but don't know if it is out dated info and I also don't always understand the words as I have forgotten what to do.
I have read that I need to repartition things if I have had Lineage OS, which I tried but it didn't work.
Also, that i need to make sure I have the right Android on it, but I am not sure what that actually means with this phone.
I think there was some other advice I read that I should do first, but I don't recall now what it was. So I got confused as to what I actually need to do.Could i get some advice as to what order I need to do things please?
It would be great to get UT back on a phone. On this one, i just want to use it as a controller on my network for Libreelec and Volumio to start with. Then I am hoping to get my Oneplus One phone working again to act as a spare. One step at a time
Thanks.

RE: Battery capacity test
@dad_and_alive Yes, I shall do that.
I was hoping there was an app or something built in somewhere to tell you your battery capacity.
I have one from lineageos or android or something.
Might have just been fun to see numbers. -
RE: Most stable phone for Ubuntu Touch??
@Nathan123 I am not a heavy user. Pretty basic user.
I have just picked up a Oneplus One and am busting to put UT on it, but I shall have to wait.
The N5 is about half the price I would say of the OPO, but you get more ram, and WAY more storage. But to my mind, that allows me to play with the N5.
I am looking to tape an extra battery to the back of the N5 when i get a chance to try to increase its capacity
Can use it as a UT test bed too hopefully. -
RE: Most stable phone for Ubuntu Touch??
@Giiba Interesting. As a comparison, I think mine has been 'lightly used'.
I picked it up this year, but it seems in pretty good order.
Is tidy and the battery holds pretty well. -
Battery capacity test
Is there a way to do this with UT?
I have a N5 and someone gave me another battery, I would like to see which has the better capacity. -
