Orange is not the only colour!
-
Hi All, I bought the UBPorts edition Pinephone (delivery late May - (hopefully)).
Is there an opertuinity to change the system colours to users preference? -
Actually, orange is the identifying color of the system.
Anyhow, no. There's no plans for now to change our identity ain color.
-
Also, orange isn't really the dominating color in UT. It's mostly just black, white, blue, green and red. In fact, I think the only color orange on top of my head is the launcher button.
-
@null OK, so I guess these options are compiled into the distro? My interest is not to detract from the UBPorts identity but adapt it to my aesthetic preference. After all, choice is our common interest.
-
@null I personally feel like Orange is highly under-represented in Ubuntu Touch anyways, many of the previously orange system colours, have turned blue, which I personally think is sad, but hopefully eventually there'll be an option to switch colours, I'd probably go with a nice purple, if I don't go with Ubuntu Orange, but I know that purple isn't in everyone's taste.
However, there isn't the ability to customize them atm, and I think the colours are set in a weird way, which makes it hard to change them at the moment, but I'm not fully sure if I'm correct with that one.

Nobody can say no to this !
Let users make their own choices!
-
@Keneda User choice is good and all. But what is underappreciated is the developer burden implementing said choice carries with it.
The possibility of choice is much more likely to be implemented if at least one ofthe people wanting the choice is also able to implement it.

My assumption is that 'UBports Orange' is set in only a few places. It is no disrespect to the developers to ask their advice.

I know any option, any feature to be implemented, needs a lot of work.
I also know that GNU/Linux environnement will not emerge if not user friendly.UTouch is fine for me in its graphic style, i like orange identity, so i don't mind, but my taste is not everyone taste.
Although you can't ask people to learn coding, they, for the most part, have to rely on devs (including me).
I also know that they are really more imperative things to fix first, so let's be patient.

Well, if you really want to, you can fairly easily do it by modifying some QML files of Lomiri.
Here's a sample I did years ago...where there was still an orange line below the indicators
-
@CiberSheep what about aubergine?

Ubuntu Touch really isn't all that orange lol
The only things that come to mind that are is the logo and default wallpaper
