        Hi,

Let's start. I am a new comer for Ubuntu Touch.

Why not posting a FAQ within https://forums.ubports.com/category/38/general with frequently asked questions ?
OK. There is a FAQ located at https://ubports.com/fr_FR/community/faq
But I don't think it is up-to-date and easy to maintain.

Here are the dummy questions that could be posted :

        User :

        • what is OTA 11 vs OTA 12 ?
        • what are the different Telegram channels addresses ?
        • how to report a bug
        • what are RC, Stable, Dev, Xenial, ... channels ?
        • Ubuntu Touch is based on which version of Ubuntu ? 16.04.1, 16.04.2, 16...?
        • Are the Ubuntu 16.04 security updates merged in Ubuntu Touch ? At which frequency ?
        • Is it 32 or 64 bits ?
        • ...

        Developper :

        • what is edge channel ?
        • how to port a new device ?
        • how to develop a new application ?
        • ...

Idea would be to have only one message with all the Q/A.

It's true that reading Telegram channels, we will find the answers. But it is very time consuming.

I believe it will help new comers to understand and participate in Ubuntu Touch.

        What do you think ?

          Hi! I got 2 questions:

          1. I understood that there are some issues with pinephone (some things do not work as intended or missing), what are those and when do you expect to solved them if you can predict?
          2. When you will push Marius enough to get that OP5T (OnePlus 5 T) image working? (This is for Dalton)
That as something that I think would be of a magnitude large enough to make a crater on the moon :)), I mean that if you have a phone with that much power you can really think at convergence and other neat stuff.

Are their any features not currently working on the PinePhone that you anticipate working by the time the community editions are shipped out to customers? If so, which ones?

Concerning pinephone issues, here is the link: https://gitlab.com/ubports/community-ports/pinephone/-/issues?scope=all&utf8=✓&state=opened .Indeed, there are a few that are blocking the use of basic phone features. Thanks to the developers who are working on it. Let's hope that the sending of the phones will be able to be done about in time ...

                Hi,

Unity8/Mir upgrade project started in December 2018 from I have understood.

What is the next big challenge for UT ?

                • Migration from Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04 ?
                • 64 bits full support ?

Okay I am going to make this as simple a question as possible. When the pinephone community edition lands in my hand and after I update it to the latest stable image... will I be able to make calls ( that have working audio ) and send/receive text messages? I have seen too many conflicting reports on these features and if they work.

                      Hi
Any chance to see an improvement about incoming call page ?

                      Thanks for your great job.

@UBportsNews I notice that several users are stuck in bootloader after an unsuccessful UT installation using UT installer. Mostly they forget to read documentation and do not install ADB, Fastboot, etc...

Would it be possible to add fastboot and adb packages inside the snap installer?
Btw, for Mac & Windows version, we could add a few steps during the installation process warning them to get those packages before starting the installation.

The main goal is to avoid those bad experiences as well as tedious support requests by here.

Does this idea make any sense?

@stanwood Seems adb and fastboot are already include in snap installer. But not everybody use snap installer.
Some people doesn't enable developer mode. I haven't check if the installer ask the question.

With windows installer, it warms for ADB and it asks for dev mode, with a how to link.

Now with OTR12 nearly finished and Ubuntu20.04 available, what are your current thoughts on the roadmap to Ubuntu Touch with a 20.04 base?

In the same spirit than @poVoq , the question arises especially for the Volla phone scheduled to ship in November : is there a roadmap for its porting and on which ubuntu will it be based ?

Someone could “sponsor“ the rc test on bq e5? On my phone there is a problem with incoming calls (see OTA-12 call for testing forum) - from rc...w18 and still present on w19, released yesterday.
                                  Thanks!
