Wish list : which apps do you need?
-
@rebecca58 Im wishing for a bluetooth app to open and close my garage door with. Its really handy I use garagemate on android and its the one thing holding me back from ditching my primary phone for an Ubuntu touch phone
-
@baguette_child Have a look at my waydroid comments today and yesterday about working apps.I have several crypto wallet apps working now, running in waydroid.
SafePal wallet supports just about every coin including all the XMR variants.

@keneda I'll look into that thanks for the suggestion

I personally really like using Clickup as my personal planning/organization app, they have an API available. So having either a separate Clickup app on UT, or maybe an integration in one of the several todo list apps using their data as a backend would be very nice

I would be happy about an app/ script being able to transfer (via USB) my phone's GPS-data/ stream to my laptop. So I could use my NAVIT-installation on the laptop (big map!) with my phone's GPS-stream...
Still dreaming...No need to dream :
- Export the data on your phone.
- Enable Developer Options.
- Connect the phone via USB Cable.
- Download the data to your PC or Laptop via ADB Tools
About the apps :
- Firefox for
AndroidUbuntu Touch - Telegram Client that works better/more intuitive and reliably than TELEports does at the moment...
- VLC for playing video's mainly.
Something with the same base/core is fine too!
And fingers crossed for all the VoLTE and MMS users out there!

I would really like to see : Blanket - https://github.com/rafaelmardojai/blanket/
https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2020/09/blanket-background-noise-app-for-linux
Maybe it would be possible for me to build and install - and if someone´s aware of the difficulty in this, I would be very pleased to learn about how.
Is it enough (in ubtouch) to just follow this guide for install:
https://ubunlog.com/en/blanket-an-ambient-noise-application-for-the-desktop/This app is a real live-saver, for me ..

Maybe this will help you further:

Online Banking App: Get transaction data;
In germsny possible via FinTS, a python library exists;
Unfortunately I didn't have time try it in UT.
Maybe someone wants to give it s try. Having a donwload of thw latest bank transactions and store them in sqlite db with the possibility to define categoried for earnings/expenses as well as defining rules for warnings would be great. -
@brainbreaks Have you tried

UT Bug Report App:
Using Github Rest Api it should be possible to make a simple app or big reporting.
App could automatically retrieve phone type and UT OS Built version and channel to submit bug reports to github.
Obviously only works for bugs that dont break UT or internet on the phone. -
@homer
I endorse ! -
- Running app (like Android's Fitotrack)
- Smartwatch connect (like Gadgetbridge)
-
@cliffcoggin I´ve looked at it yes, but when I press on the app in the store, nothing happens?
Edit: downloaded .click file from the website and opened with store app. Then it worked
It seems some apps in the mobile store doesn't open?
-
Thanks @Moem
I did look at the clickable solution . Installed docker and started creating. It seems my coding skills are almost near zero, though.
-
@brainbreaks I see what you mean. I installed it a couple of years ago for a trial and soon got bored with it, but I guess it no longer meets current application criteria.
-
@cliffcoggin dunno about that (criteria)
I think my problem is mostly, that I realize more and more, that I (although often browsing github) simply does not understand coding at all, unless someone have posted a tutorial .
The “getting started" TUT for clickable was very straightforward, but did not include the steps for actually getting an app to work . At least from what I could manage to contain and understand. -
Currently, a mushroom identification app !
Hello @s710 . It is just an idea as your plant app is super great . -
-
Currently -
- DUO Authentication would be awesome
- Stock App (may adventure into this idea)
- 100% working US (Mint Mobile) MMS compatibility
If 1 and 3 would come true, i would instantly use UT as a daily driver
-
My wishes for Ubuntu Touch apps:
- Alternate browsers
- LINE Messenger
- Yubico Auth. (Needed for 2FA)
- Native Discord app
- Up-to-date Spotify client
- Navy Federal app
If someone manages to pick these up and publish them on the Open Store, I'd be very happy
