After trying a little more..I think I know what's wrong. The wifi receiver is barely picking up a signal. Even very close to the router.

So basically, it's hard to get on the internet. If I enable, and reconfigure WiFi again....sometimes it connects. But with a low signal.

I didn't have this issue when it was LineageOS. But it still could be the phone maybe. I am using Verizon Fios router....which COULD be an issue. But I have connected MANY phones with no issues via WiFi.

I'm on the stable version. Just a standard install on a Oneplus 1, using UBports installer.

ALSO, once the WiFi tries to reconnect....keeps asking me for a password again.

@Nathan123 no idea what can be wrong. All I know is that the only issue I have with wifi on my opo is that sometimes after booting wifi is not available. For the rest it works flawless.

Did you flash anything special before trying ubports? Maybe try to revert to stock modem?

@wdehoog No I didn't. It had LineageOS on it, and I used the installer for UT.

I will try to revert back, and see what I can do. I have time to fix it...not an emergency. But if someone has any ideas...let me know. Thanks!!!

I have opo and on stable and RC the wifi works ok-ish. I don't have the problems you mentioned.

That is interesting. I usually only have wifi problems with my opo one when reconfiguiring the wifi hotspot name and password. Are you using the hotspot at all?

I can pick up a 5g conection 50 feet from the router through walls, and I can probably do 75 to 100 feet through walls on a 2.4 g conection.

If you get super close to the router does it work better?

@Edward-Wilhelm Literally, the router is pretty close. I can't usually get it to connect unless i'm about 15 feet away This isn't a big house either.

I really think something is screwed up. I wish I had another router to test it. I have seen weird stuff from random routers not agreeing well. But it wasn't doing that when I had LineageOS on it...

So basically...I could stand 6 inches away, and the signal wouldn't be very good.

@Nathan123 Download from OpenStore the wifiscanner app and have a look at the signals strenght. You could run in terminal the ifconfig command, especially when is buggy and see what have changed in the wlan0 status.
