Bad Battery Nexus 5 (will try to install Ubuntu Touch)
-
@nebulom Replace it with the PolarCell LG Nexus 5 D820/D821 battery. Best aftermarket battery i've found
-
@rocket2nfinity thanks. Definitely will.
-
@nebulom Try booting to recovery clearing cache, choose wipe on the installer and try again if you think the install did not work and test adb is seeing the device correctly. Bad battery will obviously affect start up but it should work with cable.

@Lakotaubp thank you so much. I tried re installing it via UBPorts installer wiping all data and now it seems to be working and yay, I'm loving this OS. Will try to use it as often as possible and report anything for improvement. Thanks again and best regards.

@rocket2nfinity How long do you think the phone stays charged with that battery?
-
@saveurlinux thanks. Maybe around 5 mins and it instantly shuts off Managed to install successfully though. Replied from UT morph browser

@nebulom
I believe @saveurlinux asked about lifetime of the PolarCell LG Nexus 5 D820/D821 battery, not yours -
@Keneda lol. Sorry. Didn't noticed the tag there. Guess it's been a long day.
-
@saveurlinux Depends on usage. If you use it like a regular phone (mostly idle except for phone calls and occasional email checking during the work day) it will last all day.
I however use it to do research while my family is at appointments. This is usually in four hour blocks of solid screen time scrolling through webpages in bright light. I usually have another hour or two of juice after that. If you are using maps, it runs out faster.
The Nexus 5 was never great on battery life. And this battery outperforms the original when it was new. Only the Nexus 5X battery hack lasted longer. But that's a lot of work to do.

thanks a lot.
