      Good day folks.
Neither the sound nor the vibrate setting on my Nexus 5 camera has any effect when taking a photo. The camera remains completely silent, though the speaker and the vibrator work in other applications. Is that normal on stable channel of OTA12?

@cliffcoggin Are you talking about the setting in the camera app or in the system settings? The camera app has its own setting for having a shutter sound, vibrate or none. There's a known bug though where the icon is blank if you never changed its value so it may not be easily visible to you.

There's also a known issue where the vibration only works the first time. This is a general issue with Ubuntu Tooklit and it also affects the camera app. In regards to the sound, try changing the volume in uVolman. Perhaps the volume for the shutter sound is on mute or too low.

I would not know how to, though I did find the nexus 5 page and nothing was mentioned there about it.

I am talking about the settings within the camera app, which I can see and set. They simply do not seem to have any effect.
I have uVolman though there isn't a setting there for camera. The only one not at 100% is the multimedia which is at 78%.

@cliffcoggin I was able to replicate it on my Nexus 5 although it's in Halium 7.1 version. Anyway, perhaps you should report this in github.

Thank you both. I see from Kenada's link that the app is not being maintained. Nevertheless I have added a request to fix the problem.

What makes you think the app is not maintained ?

Last merge was done 2 days ago.
The camera app is a main feature and will be maintained with the rest of the OS.

When I added my comment to the issues list there was a request from Eran seeking a new maintainer.
