System Settings does not start anymore on rc channel

@mihael, I also run UT on a turbo. I was on the dev channel all this time, but I switched tonthe rc xhannel to test this.
The settings app still works for me.

@mihael Sounds like the system is corrupted somehow. Running through the installer should fix that. I would try that now if it was me, it should not alter anything if you don't select wipe. @arubislander seems to confirm this.

I agree with @Lakotaubp that something is amiss with the current state of your install. A reflash (or changing channels and back) should sort out this issue and also the other one that you have with regards to the OpenStore.

I have the same problem on devel and rc. No problem on stable. I tried to make a new installation to devel, but the installer 0.8 loses connection to my device. Now I'm back to stable channel. -
@marlboro50 You may switch channels from system settings - without a computer - in case you want to test again one of devel and rc channels. Since my system setting app does not work, my only option is using a pc - to reflash or to switch the channel. Thank you for your input.

i am able to reach system settings via the battery indicator, so i can change channels. In system settings i will cause a crash when i tap the "about" icon. That means i can not set the developer mode. At the moment I don't reccomend using either devel or rc channels. -

Could you please use the logviewer app to see and submit a log of the settings app on your device? We can take a look and see what's going on.

I am now in the process of making a new installation of the dev channel. I tried a number of times but failed: the installer 0.8.0 beta lost connection to my device.
Now I used 0.8.1, miracle, it worked!

@marlboro50 You're a genius! Yes, I can enter system settings via battery setting from the top menu. Everything works in system settings except for the About section - it makes the app crash... Maybe something goes wrong when it tries to read / display the version of the sysyem?

Was there any changes in the settings app recently?
not sure if it's related but the update page gets broken on the pinephone most of the time. The app blinks until it's just black. So far I only encounter this in the update page/ -

@mihael Wow, that's quite a listing. I wrote a quick script to pull all of these from the store and install them, however I have quickly found that a lot of these are no longer available in the store.
Do you have a lot of apps installed and left over from the 15.04 days?

@mihael OK. I've downloaded and installed all the ones which still are installable from open store, and while it does make loading the Storage page quite slow, there is no crash for me in settings.
