I'm trying to change APN parameters in Settings, by going to "Operator", "APN", "Edit" (translating from my language). I'm able to change things but as soon as I try to save they return to the original values. I also tried to create a new APN, which can be done from the main screen clicking "+", but the new APN is not saved.

Is it possible to change APN values at all, or are these being set up by the SIM itself?

Have you tried entering the information a second time when adding a new APN? I have found that when the info doesn't save, if I click on the new setting that was just made and enter the info again, it would be saved after that.

And not sure if this is a device specific issue or not, but what device are you on?

APN settings works fine on my device, so let's tell what device you have and what version of uTouch you use.

@manchee1017 Yes, I tried different ways, but I will try some more.

            Volla with latest RC channel.

I'm trying to do this for the second SIM card.

@wgarcia There are indeed problems in the ' 'management of the APN'' on the Halium 9 devIces and perhaps more specifically on the Volla. I confirm what you say.
You can review the different issues related to ''APN management problems'' for UT in general and for the Volla.

Two examples of bug reports but there are many more:

              https://github.com/HelloVolla/ubuntu-touch-beta-tests/issues/94 MMS issue for me.

Hi, since it is device specific, I moved the thread to the VollaPhone sub-forum.

I was finally able to change the APN in the settings. It seems that it has to be tried more than once until it sticks.

Otherwise the double SIM works well (I tried with two SIM that I didn't need to fiddle with the APN settings) under OTA-17. I didn't try MMS though, I've never sent or received a MMS in 20+ years of using cell phones.
