@Lakotaubp Good catch! fixed now, was a plugin that failed on registration, but fixed now!
-
@mariogrip Thank you

@mariogrip : I noticed a new font color scheme on the forum today. Standard text appears greyed-out and topics and banners/buttons are red. Is this the new look from now on? I must say I find the old font colors easier on the eye and better legible. Is it possible to get back the old style? The old style was also more similar (if not the same as) Ubuntu's.
-
Please give us the old color scheme. Wow, this is hard on my eyes.
-
Personally, I don't like this red font for unread messages (or all messages if you're not connected): it's tiring for the eyes. For read messages, the font is less dark, which is also tiring for the eyes.
Can we make unread messages appear read without reading them all so that there is no more font color distinction? I don't find that.
-
@domubpkm best would be to give the choice to user.
What i find not very good, is the text color, way too [light] grey. -

Grey and also very thin. I had to increase the font in order to read it easily. I never had to do that before.
-
@mariogrip : I see the colors have changed again, this time to a new blue/purple. In my previous post, in which I asked to revert the forum color change, I wrote: βThe old style was also more similar (if not the same as) Ubuntu's.β I'd like to explain why I would choose to keep it: our mobile OS is called Ubuntu Touch. The first version was made and released by Canonical (company behind Ubuntu), it is build on the code of Ubuntu, we profit from its well-known name. To me, it therefore seems logical to follow its layout/style as close as possible. One more advantage: we make use of Canonical's design expertise, and can be sure that it is tested for legibility and comfort.

Quick note on Forum changes has evrybody noticed the changes available at the bottom of your profiles. Rights and consent, 2FA and Themes.
-
@Lakotaubp : Thanks for pointing this out, I hadn't noticed yet. However, I see the Themes only allow to change placing of menu and adjust size to screen. The color scheme seems fixed, at least in the excellent UBports Forum webapp that I use to access the forum and keep track of new posts. An option to change color scheme was also requested by another user in this thread. I still would like to advocate for the old theme as default for the reasons mentioned previously.
-
There is an Ubuntu theme/skin we can try, but it's highly orange
-
@mariogrip If possible, it would be nice to be able to adjust the font size (currently too small) as well as the font color (current gray is too light - washed out) in the Forum.
-
@domubpkm sadly i cannot do this easily, but will try.
How does this look? -
@mariogrip It's already better.
-
@mariogrip : I like the change back to orange, and the black font which means more contrast. I did notice the following: In the UBports Forum webapp, the Yumi mascot and the myprofile button (at least here) have almost the same color as the orange background behind them, meaning they kind of disappear. I can't remember how it exactly was before the forum change, but this was not the case then.
Also in the webapp, every thread features a scroll button at the bottom. This is dark grey text on very light grey. When you scroll to the bottom, background turns to dark purple, meaning text becomes less visible. -
-
I do like the current bolder Ubuntu font. It helps with readability. The font is a friendly one, and on topic.
There is clearly some experimenting with colors going on! I don't mind the red at all, except that it's VERY saturated. -

I may have eyes problem, but i see orange, not red.
But very flashy indeed. -

I see none of those in profile Settings. I do see the lurid orange background colour which makes text harder to read.

Whatever we call it (and whatever our displays present us with), I think we agree that it's harsh and not very pleasant to look at.
