Sorry if this has already been asked or if I posted in the wrong sub-forum. I am interesting in adding a second phone number on my Pixel 3a XL for things like text verification and to have 2 separate numbers for personal and work matters. Is there any way to do that on UT besides going the SIM+eSIM route? Thanks!

Some UT devices have dual sim slots. Support for them has been mixed. Most use one slot for phone, the other for data.

You could use SIP and a webapp for both calls and messages on a second number, or Linphone for calls. If in the US, Google Voice as a webapp is also an option.

@ubuntumale in my experience, the fairphone 2 could be a good choice. It has two well supported sim slots, and being an arm7 device, linphone runs on it (which it won't on arm64 devices)

@ubuntumale said in Second/burner phone number on UT?:

              a second phone number

With my operator, there is an option to have a second phone number on the same SIM for two euros per month. Maybe for you too ?

              eSIM

Not currently supported by UT. It should but I don't know if there is any work in progress on this with focal.
