I imagine that many UT users (like me) will finally want to pay the long overdue next donation when the Bluetooth connection to make hands-free calls in the car will finally work. It is simply a safety concern. :winking_face:

I couldn't help reacting to this. I understand you are saying this somewhat in jest, but it exposes a common misconception about donations (and one that I have also fallen for from time to time.)

Donations, by their very nature, should not be seen as reward to a project for work done, but as a way to support the work being done at the moment.
While donating doesn't guarantee your issue will be addressed, withholding your donation until some features that is important to you is implemented or fixed will definitely not make that happen any quicker.

I did not mean to downgrade the work of anybody. I am not a developer and am not following specific MR or anything. Call me a USER I have my Oneplus here, no Fairphone or other devices to test - which i am struggling with for weeks and have no clue how to solve.
The 20.04 process in general is years behind* and there was no Q&A for many months, which gave me the feeling that there wasnt going on a lot and has been the reason i kindly asked for an Q&A.

To get a proper feeling of whats going on i asked also here to get an overview in the Q&A.

Sorry, if I bothered anyone.

*the 20.04 was mentioned in one Q&A as "maybe" christmas present, which is a long time ago already.

@Mario-CH I don't see the writing as a reprimand, but nobody will know if you donate for one reason or another, if you like this project do what you have to do, there are many who don't donate because it's better to have two beers.

@Mario-CH Far be it from me to tell anyone how and when to spend their money. I was simply pointing out an inconsistency in the expressed logic.

Say a potential donor would make their donation depend on a specific feature that might need some other seemingly unrelated but very labor intensive work to be done first. It is quite possible that work might need funding to get done. But that will not happen because the funding is being held up by the absence of the aforementioned dependent feature. A chicken and egg situation in which (in)action of the donor is unwittingly making it less likely that their desired feature will be developed.

Also, I am sure the project is extremely thankful for any actual donation, whenever, and for whatever reason it is given.
But what you, in effect, are demanding is gratitude for the mere expression of intent to donate.

Optional, and maybe really too soon, would you, and Fairphone, be willing for a partnership also for FP5 ? (It's not a "will you port to device" question, I'm sure FP5 will be ported ~~soon or~~ later ️ )

Well, in my first post (on the Q&A) I actually only asked one question. And I tried to explain why this seems important to me. In doing so, I held out the prospect of a bonus in the form of a further donation.
Therefore I saw myself in the situation of an insinuation.

It should also be borne in mind that the English language is desired in the forum, and many in the community have a different mother tongue. The moderators should actually take misunderstandings into account, especially with sensitive topics.

I must admit that I could not write that the specific function I wanted would be worth a bonus donation.

Sorry, I am faced with another insinuation.

My first post was only about the status request for the things with the Bluez Stack, because I'm interested. With the details of my reasons for a functioning Bluetooth. I have already donated a higher amount after the successful installation of UT in 2020.
Unfortunately, I can't afford to choose among my various donations for "open source projects" which I don't want to use. So it has to have a benefit for me, and I don't find that reprehensible.

In my profession (assembler for machine mechanic, CNC), you can't avoid planning the work accurately and setting milestones, because different professions are involved (manufacturing and assembling machine components, electrical engineering, programming the operating control and others). So we need a plan, which can also be rough at the beginning. We can't just start and then realise - Oh, that has an impact on other things.
That is, from my point of view, the reason why I am making a status request, because I am interested in where we are now after the increase to Focal Fossa 20.04.
