I found that the logs of Morph Browser and also of Sapot Browser show the websites I have been on. This way the Logviewer app will show my browser history even if I cleared it in Morph and Sapot respectively.

Apparently the Logviewer app retrieves the logs from journalctl. So there seems to be no way to prevent this persistent record (as opposed to 16.04 where the logs were deleted when the logged app was closed).

Do I miss something or is this a privacy issue?

is this a privacy issue ?

Indeed, even if someone need accessing the phone physically to do that.

Other thing, if logs are never deleted, it's a matter of time before storage fulfilled, no ?

          Are logs deleted after rebooting?

            Thanks for your reply.

            No, they are not deleted.

I've noticed overall there are a lot of logs (and the Logviewer is flooded). It might be good for debugging but how good is it for the ssd's on the phone actually?

I think you found a serious issue here.
You should open one on Gitlab for that.

I'm struggling to find the proper place for that issue. Somewhere at https://gitlab.com/ubports/development I suppose. Can you help?

I guess it is in core components https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core?page=1

But can't tell wich one handle log records.

So, i'm quite useless here 😅

Did you search "journalctl" in repo ? (Edit : ok i did, no result...)

I put it there even though it seems to be a general problem of systemd/journald.

                        Thanks for your replies, guys.

@muskist Thank you for that catch, just wanted to add a small note the Logs should be cleared on reboot if devel mode is not enabled.
