It's unbelievable just how rude you are being to @dobey and the other UT devs. The amount of work they do is enormous, and if anything you should be thanking them for working their asses off to make UT as great as it is. UT is run by a community, and the project is steered by the views of the community - not the ideas of one single individual who wants everything to go their way. For you to come in here and demand that UT be changed exactly how you want is uncalled for, and frankly, demeaning to this community as a whole.

@kugiigi @UniSuperBox IMO, the specific thing that is aesthetically unpleasing is the sudden cutoff / hard edge between the drawer handle and the statusbar. Maybe some edge rounding would make it look nicer?

How do either of these look?

It was discussed on a Q&A a few weeks ago, and also on the Telegram Supergroup. We also have a thread about it on the forum here. The core developers are aware of the need, but support will probably not come soon.

Dobey mentions in the forum thread that getting to VoLTE will take significant work. Without meaning to put words in the mouth of the core development team, the chief priority of current development would seem to be getting to the Unity 8 cutover. @UniSuperBox What if instead of a handle, the 'short right edge swipe' gesture closed the drawer? In other contexts, the short right swipe reveals the previous app used, so it would make sense that in the drawer context that gesture would hide the drawer and reveal the open application.

Are there any OS for the PinePhone that support VoLTE?

@Josele13 In response to your question about the dual sim adapter: it will definitely work, but I don't think it does what you expect. Dual sim adapters like this allow you to connect two SIM cards to your card slot. The phone doesn't actually work with both cards simultaneously. Instead one SIM is operating at a given time while the other is unusable. You can alternate the two by turning the phone off and then back on. Not a great improvement compared to carrying the second SIM in your wallet and changing it when necessary. It's basically only a convenient storage place for the second SIM. Not to mention the adapter is pretty big and I doubt it would fit in most phones.

@PINE64 in the august update, it was said that

Will the hardware be finalized before advanced users/early adopters are allowed to order? i.e. if I buy an early adopter phone, will the hardware I get will be the same as someone who orders after the release?

I really want to help get VoLTE working on ubuntu touch. Can anyone point me in the direction to get started? I am kinda lost trying to figure this out. How do I start getting involved in the development of the core of UT?

Is it possible to deploy React Native apps to UT? It looks like canonical did some work getting React Native onto UT, but does this still work / is Ubuntu Touch supported by react native?

A side note: /e/ is horrible. A better choice is microG for LineageOS, which /e/ is based on a ripoff of.

@arubislander Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that but it didn't seem to make much of a difference at all. Is there any more ways to speed it up? How long does it take for your setup to build the default 'pure qml' application template/cookie cutter?

I want to make an app UT, but clickable is really slow. Every time I run it (with clickable desktop) it starts a new docker container and it has to completely rebuild the project. Is there a way to make this faster? It currently takes way too long between making a change in the QML and actually testing it.

When will the PinePhone be added to the ubports installer? Will it be in for the braveheart batch, or not until the stable release?

Where he shows off an insanely thin (6mm) external 4k monitor. That already seems perfect for use with unity8 desktop mode, but whats more is that it works over usb-c! So you just plug in a usb-c cable between the phone and the monitor, and it draws power and video from the phone!
