Re: [Notification lights not working](/topic/8775
Hello,
Despite ota-3 being stable, led notification still doesn't work on my OP5T phone.
Has this been included in the bugs, because if we could find a developer who takes this as important?

Hopefully we'll be able to see the results of your work in ota-5.
Thank you. -
RE: Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch Focal OTA-4
@peat_psuwit
Hello,
Unfortunately, I don't have time to deal with this this week, and I'm a bit reluctant to dig deeper into my only phone that I use every day.
To rectify, on my OPT5, my version is in French, but on the home screen, there is still the information: "No text message received today" (so in English), but the date and time and the rest are in FR.
I should point out that in the system settings, there are several items that are still in English while the main one is in French; I've noticed that it's not only on UT that this sort of thing exists, because on a Linux distribution with, for example, KDE, Gnome, etc, it happens that there are still some indications (by default) in English, while a previous version was mature and well translated...
Have a nice day -
RE: Video Camera not working properly
@Salah
Happy New Year!
I'm taking the liberty of joining the conversation for the same problem because I had edited a post on OP5T, not having received a reply.
Here's what I wrote in that post:Hello,
the camera's video playback is no longer possible, even after rebooting.
When I want to see a recording made from the camera or a downloaded video, the moment I start viewing, a black screen appears, and nothing else.
I've noticed this for about 1 week.
To all the many OP5T users out there, have you noticed this problem?

I had not seen that you had opened a post after me concerning this problem and therefore, I do not open a post on 20.04 focal, and I join the conversation on your post, since I see that you have more success than me ... -

Happy New Year
Are you on 20.04 focal ?
If so, since you're having the same problem as me with the video camera on another phone, I'll put this post on 20.04 focal and ask that it stay there, so that there's more reaction and help possible.
Thank you. -

Hello,
Good news indeed, and it makes a lot of people very happy!
And thanks also to the various contributors to the subject. -
RE: OP5T removed from device list 20.04...
@arubislander
It is, of course, those who have been involved in this project from the outset who remain in control of its route.
Nevertheless, among the users, there are of course these developers and others, and there are the users who have their own opinion on the matter.
Who says developers says, no doubt, passion, challenge, fun etc ...,
who says users and not developers says, no doubt, a reason mentioned by some and others, security and privacy with this system.
However, where I think the “basic” user is wondering is what will happen to his or her phone if it is no longer supported, or if he or she chooses a phone from the list of devices, for how long? So it's logical to choose the phone that is best supported by UT.
As a result, the devices that are least well supported will eventually be dropped and disappear from the device list. ( I know, it's more complex than that, but there's a bit of it, isn't there? )
Aren't we running the risk of it going off in all directions with certain devices, only to end up with nothing at some point?
Far from wanting to direct the project, this is simply my vision of what I think as a user of a system I've been adhering to since 2016, in the hope that it will be as functional as possible on a device I find in the list of devices, and also, and this is only my opinion, that it will ensure the project's perenniality.
If I'm keen on UT, it's because I don't know if there's another project that's better suited to what I want from my phone, and that above all it's a simple, fluid, functional system that respects privacy that I need.
I'm sorry for this end-of-year prayer, but could you please tell me what the possibility is, as indicated at the beginning of the post, in the installer in the event of reinstallation? -
RE: OP5T removed from device list 20.04...
@Moem
Yes, since you're talking about the noble version, and I had read that tests had been done for this phone on another kernel and that it seemed to work, it would be a shame not to take advantage of that, as having a version where all the hardware works is a plus and gives a good impression of UT's performance.
That's why the discussion, which could concern other devices ( and if, as many here hold ), could be maintained on 20.04 focal fossa, because after all, isn't One of the reasons for UT to run on more phones, to avoid obsolescence and enable a more sustainable world? -
OP5T removed from device list 20.04...
Since my phone is no longer maintained in development, in focal which is a pity, given the investment for it, and also for the choice of UT, can you help me and let me know, (as I have not been checked in the installer given that until now the phone is no longer detected on my operating system), if in case of need for reinstallation there is an option to do it up to ota-7 in the installer?
On the other hand, since I consider that UT was not yet completed until ota-7 focal, for my OPT5, since features like led, etc .... that worked in ota-25 xenial, I guess that if I reflash an android image, there is still a way on a UT installer to reinstall UT in ota-25 ?
Thank you for your kind attention to my questions about using UT on my OP5T. -

I'll soon open a post about another very annoying problem (the camera's video playback is no longer possible, even after rebooting). -
RE: Oneplus 5T not detected by my pc ( Linux ) since ota-7
@James-T
Hello,
Sorry I've only just got back.
I'm reacting to your observation because I think it's a bug in kde 6.2.4 :
https://forums.opensuse.org/t/android-now-detected-as-portable-media-player-and-cannot-access/180896/20
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=497605
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=497539I, for one, noticed that when installing 6.2.4, changes had to be accepted and some items were deleted, which could have caused a problem.
The small difference with your distribution is that I can't even see the device in the Dolphin pane.
I'll be patient and wait for a possible change for the kde plasma 6.2.5 version available at the beginning of 2025.
Happy holidays!
