I finally reached the fastboot mode.
I used the ubports-installer and wanted to reinstall Ubuntu Touch, but to my surprise, the installer saide that the device is not supported for UT.
How is it possible whereas Ubuntu Touch was installed on this phone before it crashed ?
I am so confused now...

i am afraid that the problem comes from the smartphone: I saw a forum where users complained about the same problem and they are under android.
This user is in my case (crash after an update) but he is under Android :

Oneplus service system asks for 300€ to change the motherboard...

I tried to reboot by pressing switch key and sound key.
I can reach this screen, but no matter which key I press, the device goes back to "fatal exception".

When I plug the device on my computer and I go to the Ubports-installer, the installer cannot recognize the device.

What can I do?

This afternoon, my daughter checked the updates and her Oneplus proposed to install Ubuntu 20.04 "version 6" (she had 20.04 OTA9, so I don't know what is this "version 6").
At the end, the installer proposed to relaunch the device and we now have nothing the phone.

I don't know what to do and she goes back to her boarding school tomorrow evening...
Could you help me ? Do you think, I need to reinstall Ubuntu ? Can I save what she had on her phone ?

Re: X23 battery defective?

Last week, I discovered that I still was on OTA6 version. So, I updated my X23 to have the OTA9, and I regret it, because I never had any problems with OTA6. Now, here are the problems I have :

• the battery indicator disappear if I restart (and I need to restart several times to see it appear), like the previous discussion above.
• although I now have the 5G network proposed in the list (and the Volte), I have some "error networks" all the time. I lose the network every 5 minutes. Sometimes, I have the internet, sometimes not, sometimes I can send MMS, sometimes not.
• it seems that my battery is discharging quickly and sometimes, the phone is really hot.

I don't think it comes from the network provider because the problems really started with OTA9 update (and my daughter has the same provider on a oneplus 100 with OTA9 and she has a good network).

It makes me crazy, because I lost some phone calls too, and I don't know what to do.

My daughter came back home and immediately gave me her phone to try the command in the Terminal.... and it worked !!
MMS sending and receiving work now.
I will keep this command preciously
Now, the question is : when we reboot, this "nuntium.service" doesn't restart ?

I will tell you if the problem comes again (and how long I took to see it reappearing)

Well, I didn't try to reset the APN, I am scared that nothing works afterwards.

I will try the terminal command proposed by Wally (I hope this won't have bad effects on SMS) and if nothing changes, maybe I will try to reset the APN.

I won't try a reinstallation, I am not expert enough of UBports (that's why I bought this second-hand smartphone with UT already installed).

If I cannot succeed in fixing the problem, well, my daughter will live without MMS (but it's a pity because this is our only way to exchange pictures during the week when she is on boarding school).

The wifi is always off on her smartphone. She doesn't use it.

So, maybe I should try your terminal command. My daughter is on her boarding school at the moment, so I will try next week-end and keep you advised.

No, I haven't updated the device. It is on 20.04 OTA9.
Internet is working with cellular data.
She never uses the wifi (except to check the updates)
It is a real mystery because we exchanged a lot of pictures since August, and now she cannot send me a picture and she doesn't receive mines (they go I don't know where...).

I also have UT on my smartphone (I have a Volla X23) and I never had any issues with MMS, so it is beyond my skills...

Oh, also... the device is very slow now. For example, if I click on "network", it takes some time to show the screen.

End of August, I bought a second-hand Oneplus Nord N100 (after I failed to install UT on a Xiaomi...) and everything was fine until this week : she cannot receive or send MMS whereas it worked perfectly these last 15 days.

The only thing she did was to download a game app called "Tux Racer" which crashed (the app didn't work but the music of the app was still running). She said she thought that the phone also crashed.

If somebody has an idea... I don't understand why this was working and why this doesn't work anymore...
