I use a nexus 6p it's great phone. Does anyones video recording work?
Anytime I try to record video it just freezes.

@kz6fittycent are you on windows? ubuntu? i used ubuntu 20.10 and downloaded the .deb form. snap usually is slow and buggy from my experience with brave browser and other apps. i was also having problems with ubports on the snap version. not sure if that helps

I fixed my problem.. I was not following the steps properly. I would install twrp then sideload oem 7.1.2 then i would jump right into ubports installer.
i realized i needed to install twrp again after i sideloaded and format the whole drive then ubports worked correctly..

Darn, no luck for me. I have another nexus 6p that seemed to accept the ubuntu touch but this one which ive had it on in the past is being stuborn lol.

@kz6fittycent Yeah i've been struggling getting this to work on my nexus 6p as well. I got it working in the past but I just went to install it again because i had to go back onto android for a moment and now im struggling to get back on to ubuntu touch. I follow all the same procedures as well. install twrp, format, install 7.1.2. then im using ubports from snap on ubuntu 20.10. I just get to the ubuntu recovery screen but only options are reboot and wipe / factory reset but nothing will get me into ubuntu touch. I've gone through the steps 4 times now. now im trying to install on different channels right now on edge. wish me luck

My camera isn't bad, but i will say i just compared our phones and it seems their the same speed. Just incase anyone thinking of buying either or.

Not sure if this is the correct sub-group but, does ubports have intentions of including raise to wake in the future? It's not a big deal i'm just fearful of my power button dieing like they eventually do on my old iphones. I'm sure this will be a thing in the future. Alas great work everyone

@dobey wow thats a great idea. I messed around with uninstalling the openstore which was a great start. But im going to try and delete the terminal as well once its all set. I appreciate the advice

Hi, I'm trying to find a way to restrict the phone's access to the internet.

I know on my laptop I can block sites in /etc/hosts, but the problem with that is you can't restrict all sites and only allow some. Or at least I haven't figured out how to.

The other possible solution, is maybe there is a way to password restrict OpenStore? but this password would have to be different than the lock screen password, otherwise it would be useless.

I've seen the Jade Diamond app but that is only good if your letting someone barrow your phone. I'm looking for a longterm solution.

Anyways If anyones found good ways to lock down the phone for a child I'd appreciate the help.

I gotta say the experience on this is so much better than the nexus 5. One thing I noticed on mine is the camera especially the selfie looks like fish eyed. Not sure if thats software or this camera.

AWEsome I just installed the rom you recommended oem 7.1.2. Then used the ubports installer 6.0 and its working on my 6P. thank ya very much

just got a nexus 6p from my brother. just reformatted and now i guess ill be following flohacks steps from october 2nd.
