    • RE: Wish list : which apps do you need?

@AppLee Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I love Podbird, it's a great, well made app. I'm looking for something to use my own mp3/audio files ripped from my Audible and Overdrive folders.

I'll have to see if Podbird is able to handle the use I'm looking for. Lollypop and Talefish do a good job of this, but not on UT.

I'm interested in some sort of Audiobook player. That saves your spot even after you close the app, reboot. Along the lines of Talefish in SFOS or Lollypop.

    • RE: Want To Develop UT And Need A Device

@UBportsNews Hi, I'd be willing to help with bug-testing on UT. Not much help with development (lack skills).

      Best, Ian

    • RE: Is UT efficient for a daily drive ?

Hi. I've been using UT RC on a Nexus 5 on and off for several months now. Been "forced" to use Android some since
the dimise of Maemo/Meego... I really enjoy using UT and it's ALMoST able to be used as a daily driver except for a few things that I personally want in a phone.

      1. Bluetooth on the N5 with UT is basically unusable. I have a newer VW auto and prefer to connect over BT. The N5 won't connect over USB in the car. Also not working properly for BT speakers and earbuds.

      2. I listen to ALOT of audiobooks. There is no dedicated audiobook player that I've been able to find and work properly on UT. I can listen through the music app, but my place is never saved.

      3. I use SMS and MMS to communicate with my family alot. SMS works fine (Google Fi SIM) but MMS does not. I've fooled around with the APNs, but nothing works.

These are all personal gripes with UT and may not be important to you. It really is a great product, all the people working on it in their spare time deserve ALOT credit for the hard work the continually put into UT.

    • RE: LibriFox player

Ah, I see. That worked for me, thanks! You have to keep the exact same naming convention as the file you replace. See what you mean by the file names being messed up now, but it's definitely a step forward. Thanks for the tip! Now if only Bluetooth could get sorted out...

    • RE: LibriFox player

Have you had any luck using a different app to play audiobooks? Using the Music or Media app is okay, but I lose my place every time I close the app.

    • LibriFox player

Hi. Trying to use LibriFox app as an audiobook player. I know I have to change the file extension from .mp3 to .lfa, but I'm not sure exactly where to move my files to. Found some instructions on Gitlab, but they are for Firefox.

Didn't work when I tried. I'm running RC 16.04.10 on an N5. Thanks for any suggestions. Really enjoying using UT, it's so close to being enough to use daily and drop my Droid... Now if only Bluetooth could get sorted out... Been very unreliable and basically unusable with UT on my N5.

    • RE: Google Fi SIM not receiving SMS/Calls

Problem solved. It was an additional setting in Hangouts that needed to be disabled. Calls and sms work fine on the N5 now.

    • Google Fi SIM not receiving SMS/Calls

      Hi,

I'm running the latest RC UBT on my Nexus 5. I have a Google Fi sim installed. The 3g/4g data works fine. Outgoing calling works. Messaging has had a few hickups... I've got it so I can send sms to someone, but I'm not receiving the reply on the Nexus. I've tinkered around a little with the APN settings, but no luck receiving sms so far. I also use the same sim in an Android device (H9493) and use Google Hangouts for sms in that device. When I send out an sms from my Nexus 5, the reply shows up in Hangouts but not in the native Ubuntu Touch Messaging app on the Nexus, which is where the sms originated from...

So, I can send sms texts and make an outgoing call, but I can't receive sms or incoming calls...

      Any ideas?
