Is there a current version which is easy to install and test?
Would like to try the current progress on my phone and looking for a tutorial.

RE: Ubuntu Touch on LG G6 (h870 model): call for testers
@basti Is the smartphone stuck in this screen?
Try this one:
- Turn off the smartphone
- Hold the power button on the back and Volume down
- When the LG logo appears, keep holding Volume down, release the power button and press the power button again briefly.
After a few seconds a recovery menu should appear
I strongly recommend to install TWRP for the LG G6, you should be able to install everything from here. -

RE: Ubuntu Touch on LG G6 (h870 model): call for testers
@basti I had the same problem during my installation, I think I was able to solve the problem with a different rootfs at that time.
I think I used this edge version:
https://ci.ubports.com/job/xenial-hybris-edge-rootfs-armhf/Of course, this may not be right. But I was able to install everything with it.
The manual activation of Bluetooth did not work for me, I used sudo for all commands.
As error message after hciattach I always get an "initialization timed out".
The GPS can be activated, but no location is found in uNAV. -
RE: Ubuntu Touch on LG G6 (h870 model): call for testers
Sorry for the double post, I found out that the problems are probably caused by the port and not by my installation.
I would like to know if they are currently working on this port and how I could support the developers? @Guf or @tanevanwifferen
Are there any tests that can be done or how can the development be driven forward? -
RE: Ubuntu Touch on LG G6 (h870 model): call for testers
Now I also managed to install this port on my European LG G6.
UBports looks great on this device and makes a good impression.
There are a few things I'm currently not sure if I made a mistake during the installation or if it's just the unfinished port.
Programs always seem to start in window mode or the interface in general is not adapted to the display size.
Do I have an error in the installation or is it just the optimization missing?
Otherwise very good work, I hope this port will be further developed.
I would be very happy to have a full UBPorts on the LG G6. -
RE: PinePhone
Some people have already received their PinePhone?
I haven't even received my email with the tracking number... -
RE: Launcher Modular
@syper Thanks for the advice. My mistake. With SimplestRSS the News-Tab is working fine now.

RE: PinePhone
I am one of the PinePhone BraveHeart customers and ordered the phone only to have a complete Linux phone.
It will not replace my current Android phone, because among other things the WhatsApp or the Android app support is missing at UBports.
A "PinePhone Pro" with strong hardware and a working Anbox with UBports would definitely become my daily driver. Actually I only need 2-3 Android apps like many others, everything else works fine natively in UBports.
For that I would definitely spend more money like only 150 dollars. -
RE: Porting Ubuntu Touch (@UBPorts) to tenshi (BQ Aquaris U Plus)
With an anbox compatibility and without the bugs you mentioned, I would also use the phone as a daily driver. I'm available for testing or other support if I can help you with the development.

RE: Porting Ubuntu Touch (@UBPorts) to tenshi (BQ Aquaris U Plus)
Thanks for your help!
In the meantime I was able to install UBports successfully with the new files.
UBports runs really well on the Aquaris U Plus.
After the standby, I always get the window with the selection to shutdown or restart, seems to be a bug.
The media playback also works very bad.
But otherwise I like this port very well. -
RE: Launcher Modular
This launcher is really good and with the round icons the launcher looks incredibly great. I also use it as my standard launcher and I hope it will be further developed in the future.
Unfortunately some tabs like the news are not working for me. -
RE: Porting Ubuntu Touch (@UBPorts) to tenshi (BQ Aquaris U Plus)
Hello and thanks for the good work.
I was able to install everything without any errors as described above. Unfortunately the phone gets stuck in the boot window after flashing with halium-install. -
RE: NexDock 2 and Ubuntu Touch
In terms of specifications, the new Pinephone could work perfectly with the NexDock2.
