probably 2050 after the climate change has swept away most parts of northern germany
I can confirm this, its not completely reproducable, as sometimes it doe snto open up new windows and kind of sometimes auto closes them after clicking on an entry.....
It is affecting all the apps I installed (firefox, thunderbird, gnome music player, vlc, ....)
@advocatux Workaround doesnt work for my BQ10 FHD, but fallback to rc channel does
Did you try the configuration options from here:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/175763/how-do-i-make-dosbox-show-in-full-screen-mode
Just out of curiosity I ordered a HAMA (German company) Miracast stick to play around with my M10FHD
Good thing: Display is detected
Bad Thing: On connecting it fails after some time its going through connecting, preparing for display, ready to display and then fails / disconnects on the tablet...
Using dev114
Any directions to extend testing or provide more logs/traces?
FWIW:
iw phy does NOT report P2P-device for my M10
HAMA device is HAMA83210-ADFC46

@advocatux Will check over weekend - thanx for the links
@advocatux So you will try it out? And any hint on where to report bug to?
@advocatux Problem with those firefox versions is they crash on startup or are not installable due to version conflicts of libc...
The deb i referenced comes from
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1711337
namely James Donald ALAS its a private build... Just for testing I would feel it to be safe enough...
Steps to reproduce:
Open firefox from libertine container (installed v59 FROM https://www.dropbox.com/s/ogdut56m2i0k0t9/firefox_59.0.2%2Bbuild1-0ubuntu0.16.04.3_armhf.deb?dl=0)
Go anywhere with a longer URL
touch the adressbar rather at the end of the URL
KEEP backspace pressed
second empty black window is appearing
(sometimes also third window with only the adressbar is appearing)
You can savely close those two windows and keep on working with the original window.... Still major annoyance
Tested on 108,110,112,114
Any clue how to improve this behaviour?
I just installed the telegram app and "registering" (number plus code via sms) worked without any hassles. I can read my groups everything seems functional from a short glimpse
@tartanspartan ANy clue how to trigger bug fix activities on this topic?
@tartanspartan Issues are volatile crashes when displaying websites (might be flash related)
and editing the adressbar entry causes additional (sometimes empty, sometimes mimicing the UI) firefox windows to appear....
in rare cases it even crashed the session, forcing restart of ubport UI
Also to note that most GTK apps are creating a new window when clicking on a menu and showing the entries of the menu in this window...
I did not intensively test firefox though....
Worked kind of. Its important that you first create a folder in the user-data/xenial folder
I named it SDCARD and then the mount command is:
sudo mount -B /media/phablet/ED34-76D7/ ~/.local/share/libertine-container/user-data/xenial/SDCARD
Now i can access the data from libertine apps
Installed without any issues on my M10FHD (written while listening to mp3s on rythmbox
Tested on 16.04 dev 110
Plays sound and is able to import mp3s
used the deb from
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/armhf/rhythmbox/3.3-1ubuntu7
Now if ONLY we would be able to access the sd card from libertine container.... ANY CLUE?
So i installed the deb from apt repos which crashes immediately on startup.
After some digging I found:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1711337
The above bug report and a workaround with a deb from
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ogdut56m2i0k0t9/firefox_59.0.2%2Bbuild1-0ubuntu0.16.04.3_armhf.deb?dl=0
firefox starts up, but is quite unstable....
@advocatux nope with the "touch mouse". Its cumbersome but doable I have issues with connecting to external display.... I only get dark gray screen, no display on external monitor, but tablet "changes to mousepad"
UPDATE: After I connected an external keyboard ONCE it now is able to switch on the external monitor. This allows me to use thunderbird on the tablet HOOORAYYYY!
