RE: Batter life since last OTA
Thanks for the advice!
Sorry for a delayed reply. Checked the thread, my 'top' also shows kworker as one of main processes that eat up resources, but not sure whether that is expected or not. Will try to use update from 'dev' channel and see whether that will help.
Cheers!

RE: Ubuntu Touch OTA-16 Is Here
Hi everyone! A bit of a 'noob' question : if I'm on a 'dev' channel does this mean that all the features of OTA-16 were already installed on my device for quite a while? Or switching to 'stable' and installing it will indeed bring a lot of new stuff?
Thanks! -
RE: Call sound
+1 here, tried to resolve it with UVolMan, but with no success.

RE: How to: test GStreamer-droid based camera support in Ubuntu Touch (for Halium 7.1 based port)
Hi all.
Just tried to run the installation of gst-droid as described in the first post. Camera started working when making photos. Attempt to record leads to camera app crash, still better then nothing, amazing job!Do I understand correctly that this fix is still no in 'main-stream' and installing any system update on the phone will lead to wiping this app?
Many thanks! -
RE: GPS situation
@Flohack thank you very much for the explanation! So it should basically be available in every Ubuntu Touch device from the terminal? (on device or via mtp)

RE: GPS situation
Hi all! Sorry for a bit of an off-topic, but I've already seen several mentions of this 'test_gps' utility in different topics on this forum. Could you please explain what that is and how to acquire it?
Thanks! -
RE: Oneplus 3/3T
Hi all!
Just to steer things up a bit regarding issues with no signals about incoming calls. Today I've installed latest update (OS build number 2020-02-18/2) and tried again to test whether there are some improvements regarding the subject. Unfortunately not real improvement happened in usual mode, still about half of incoming calls are missed with no signal about them. However, what I noticed is that when device is connected to charger or PC - then suddenly it starts receiving all the calls. From 10 incoming test calls with different period of time between them it did not miss a single one, which had never happened before. Mb this is some direction to dig in? Until no proper fix is found - mb this info could be at least used to create some hacky work-around to this issue? At least phone would become usable.
Cheers! -

After disable/enable wifi I can't find any network. Air-plain mode on/off doesn't fix it. I have to reboot my 3T. Anyone else with the same issue?
Hi! I consistently get similar error every time I update the system. First time it starts after the update WiFi never works, no matter what you do. Toggling airplane-mode does not help either. Then with a second restart - all works fine with no actions needed.

RE: Oneplus 3/3T
@dieharddan , @ComLarsic I'm sorry, but I just cannot back your words here. Thorough testing of my OP3T shows that in its current state calls work about 5-6 times out of 10 on average. I'm still waiting for reply from @ernest to know whether there is just issue with my audio-config or if that could be something else. In either case - fresh install of the latest available UT version did not fix the issue with phone-calls for me.

@ernest
Finally figured how to submit the text there, had to remove the starting/ending XML tags-brackets from opening/ending 'audio_platform_info' tag, cause otherwise system would complain that no scripts are allowed for submission I've submitted the config using my e-mail in the name field : peterglushkov@fastmail.com. Please check. -

@pglushkov
Can you paste the output of cat /system/etc/audio_platform_info.xml into https://paste.ubuntu.com/ ?Of course! But could you please give more specific description of the 'experiment'? Should I just call the phone while it is in sleep-mode, see of it will not respond, end the call and then just send you the log?

RE: Oneplus 3/3T
@ernest Hi! Day of the build is probably Jan 20, cause OS Build Number is reported as 2020-01-20/2.

RE: Oneplus 3/3T
Hello @ziggutas, tried to follow your steps. In the end all kinda worked, in about 15 mins got the position fix. However it happened after many tries and certain moments are still very unclear to me:
- The only way it worked is when I disabled the screen-lock by timeout and let the application to actively search for position for 15+ minutes. Then if finally could resolve it.
- When screen went blocked and blackened - seems like the GPS followed it and no position search was happenning, cause in such state (with blackened screen and enabled location service) my phone could not resolve the position for 40+ minutes
- When phone was active, but the Pure Maps app was not - it seems like no position resolution was happening in the background as well, because after phone being active and not blocked for 30+ minutes, after launching the Pure Maps app - still it had no position resolved.
All of this is counter intuitive and not the way it worked on my Meizu Pro5 with UT. Could someone more experienced elaborate on this please? Thanks a lot!
P.S. bug with no signaling of incoming calls still persists on my OP3T with UT 16.04 build 105. It works in about 50% of tries. Tried in both silent and non-silent modes, when the phone is blocked - it does not give any signs of the incoming call, only when you activate the screen - then it starts vibrating or ringing. But at least SMS signaling was fixed - in now clearly gives a signal about incoming SMSs in both active and inactive states.

RE: Oneplus 3/3T
@Stefano , @Lakotaubp , thank you very for your replies!
Have another question though. Yesterday updated my OP3T to latest available version and tried to acquire my location using Pure Maps application. However even after 20 minutes waiting, Pure Maps still could not acquire the location (it has the permission, I double-checked). In the list of what should work on OP3, GPS is listed as 'working'. Does it really work? Are there any ways to make sure that it really works? Mb some console utility to access the GPS module and get a raw position from it as some RINEX file or smth?
Many thanks! -

@Stefano said in Oneplus 3/3T:
@thilov you can install Torch by:
open terminal
type: sudo -i
you'll be prompted to type in your password, do it
then type: sudo ubports-qa install PR-22
confirm by : y when/if asked
then type: sudo apt install indicator-power
rebootafter reboot, on dash under battery icon will appear a flashlight.
Hello @Stefano ! Could you please explain a bit more about this set of commands? What is 'ubports-qa' utility and what will it do in this case?
Next line also looks a bit confusing. I always thought that UT does not use ;apt' and here it is how is that working at all?
If that would be to much of a text to explain it here, could you please give a link to some docs from where I could infer more info about this 'script' that you suggest?Will very appreciate your answers! Thanks!
