Is the Pinetab software being worked on or on halt atm? I have a Pinetab Ubports edition, but almost immediately switched to Mobian as Ubports at the time of delivery wasn't very functional. I haven't seen much activity on this forum or elsewhere regarding UBports/Pine64 lately, particularly when it comes to the Pinetab.

RE: PineTab
Since yesterday, my PineTab won't see or connect to any wifi networks. I have restarted the device multiple times, but still the same. I have also toggled wifi and tried to turn on airplane mode (which doesn't seem to work at all), but to no avail.
Edit: I managed to fix this with the nmcli command.

RE: PineTab
I just got my PineTab with keyboard stand and trying it out.
Currently running on UBports devel channel to see the progress to the software. As has been commented on above, it is still rather buggy. Sometimes trackpad will work, sometimes not and sometimes the mouse cursor disappears completely. At times, there seem to be an invisible limit for the mouse cursor movement, which I can't move beyond.
Screen resolution appears to be less than optimal. E.g. indicators are not crisp and window titles text is kind of rugged. Also, scaling in the browser makes address and bottom bars look huge, consuming a great deal of screen real estate. Is this a settings issue, or is it just a screen resolution that works poorly with Unity8?
I haven't tried to many things yet, but among those that work for me are:
Dekko2
Teleports
UT Tweak Tool
Browser (with scaling problems)
Keyboard (trackpad sometimes)
OpenStore
TerminalNot working:
Rotation
Bluetooth
User accounts
GPSThe device is rather sluggish at this stage, but I am confident that will get better with future upgrades. That probably also goes for battery, which has dropped from 100% down to about 60% in a couple of hours light use.
Interesting to try it out and hopefully it will be able to replace my aging BQ tablet with UBports eventually. I really like the nifty stand with built-in keyboard.

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
@mrcyjanek After a week of enjoying my OP6 with UBports, it started to act up a bit, particularly with wifi and mobile data connection. I usually solved this by doing a complete reboot, but the last few times the phone would only reboot into UBports with screen at max brightness and then shortly after turn itself off. The battery is at over 90% and I am able to boot into fastboot mode, so I thought maybe I should reflash.
Some more info: I am able to ssh into the phone, just like before, but the screen remains off.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
@mrcyjanek I find the built in speaker volume very low. Is this a known issue with this port or is it a hardware problem?
-
RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
@stefwe Hm, could that be changed? Is it up to the dev porting it?

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
I thought OP6 was an arm64 device, but when I tried to install futify.frenchutouch_1.0.0_arm64.click it failed while futify.frenchutouch_1.0.0_armhf.click installed at launched fine.

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
@Flohack Ok, I am not sure how to check a) and c). I guess there is no community channel yet, but I could be wrong. I'll wait for more info from @mrcyjanek . So far so good, though. Positively surprised I managed to install UBports on the device even though I wasn't able to follow the installation instructions exactly. The OP6 is a really nice device and much snappier than my aging Pro5.

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
@makeixo The port works surprisingly well. Phone calls work, without echo too! The overall experience is that the device is very fast and smooth. It has its quirks, e.g. that some apps won't work (mostly non arm64 apps I think). Also, the indicators are partially hidden behind the front facing camera and speaker. Picture quality is excellent. Battery drain for me, with cellular and wifi on seems to be 5-7 percent per hour.

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
Will OP6 get OTA updates in the near term or will updates have to be flashed?
-
RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
@mrcyjanek Managed to get UBports on my OP6 mostly with your instructions. Missing a password for unlocking the phone though. Anything you have encountered?

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
Interestingly enough I finally succeeded without the last step being 'fastboot flash dtbo dtbo*.img'. I rebooted after step 5 and my OP6 booted into UBports! However, the initial install never prompted me for a pin or password and when I power on it asks for a password. What to do?

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
Ok, just to make sure (I don't want to mess up before I start).
I have a Oneplus 6 (enchilada) with Android 10 (OxygenOS-version 10.3.4). Firstly, do I have to downgrade to Android 9?
I have the following files ready:
twrp-3.3.1-32-Pie-mauronofrio.img
OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_046_all_2005052115_6e039e5c69dfe0b.zip
halium-boot-2020.07.09.img
halium-ramdisk-2020.06.20.zip
ubports_GSI_installer_v9.zip
dtbo-2020.06.20.imgDo I need anything else before I start?
Thank you

RE: OnePlus 6(T) port
Is there another download link for the files needed to install UBports to OP6? The link provided in the how to downloads extremely slowly for me.
Thanks!

RE: No Caldav synchronization of a freshly connected calender after reboot
I too had problems with the built-in nextcloud calendar sync on my Pro 5. As I already had nextcloud contact sync working (through bash scripts), I deleted my nextcloud account on the device and added the account through syncevolution from the terminal (similar to my contact sync).
I am now running a bash script manually for two-way sync of contacts and calendar.
However, probably after an OTA update (I am on devel), my calendar sync started giving errors. After deleting the syncevolution database and config for the nextcloud calendar and recreating them, sync works fine again.
The one thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to run a syncevolution cron job. It seems that the X server requirement is preventing running these commands in the background. But syncing manually doesn't take that long, so that's what I will use for now.

RE: No Caldav synchronization of a freshly connected calender after reboot
@hummlbach I want to chime into this too. I will give you more info, but right now not on my PC and difficult to give logs. I am syncing with Nextcloud accounts, and calendar has been a bit of 'hit and miss' .

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 47 Saturday 6th of April at 19:00 UTC
I am kind of curious about which desktop OSes the UBports core team members are using and why.

What are the future milestones of UBports? Have you moved the milestones from Github (empty since OTA-8) or aren't there any?

RE: Observations on battery life - please share your experiences
I went back to OPO as my daily driver a few days ago. It has been while since I used it daily as I have had Pro 5 as my main device for some time.
Now, with the OPO on the devel channel, I can conclude that battery performance is pretty poor. Today, I took it off the charger (fully charged) at 06:40am, have done a couple of phone calls and some e-mailing with Dekko. That aside, very light use. I have all radios enabled (and bluetooth connected to my Pebble smartwatch), but have mostly been on WiFi. At 12:40, the battery was down to 40%, which equals an average hourly drain of 10%. That is considerably worse than my Pro 5 under similar conditions.
