@wgarcia Hi ! Sorry, I'm not sure to understand what you mean. This aGPS function (Xtra download) only download ephemeral, like tell Vlad. So it is a pure GPS function and it don't use WiFi or Bluetooth or scanning near cell tower. For the test please disable all GPS improvement system : So in Android settings : Improve Location Accuracy = off and Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning = off and not in High Accuracy mode. So you need to put you Android in Device only GPS to be sure to disable all other functions. It just download a satellite map at this moment. And we just need Internet data (mobile data or Wi-Fi) just one time a day. You can download the data in your home and use GPS after. We use SatStat to download aGPS (the first option in the menu). So you can do the experiment as you share at the top of the topic, or like this : I prefer this way, because we are sure that it don't use other function that ask an external server to give the location. Open Waydroid Disable GPS in Waydroid Start SatStat Download aGPS in SatStat (the first item (Recharger les données AGPS in French) like in the Vlad picture) Wait 30 seconds and after Turn off Wi-Fi and Mobile data Close SatStat Go outside Enable GPS in Android Start SatStat and look, verify that it found GPS (at the bottom) and look at the TTFF : Time To First Fix. It should be quicker than 1 minute. Is it possible for you to test it ? Thanks a lot

I was thinking a custom keyboard with macros could build on Malakiboard. I've cloned jerk-click, jerk-installer and jerk-packages in the hope of PRing some day. For now, thank you for making it easy for everyone to install these 'hacks' which I believe should and could become a part of UT!

@mirroronthewall Yes, this is surprisingly useful, as it means you don't always have to whip out a hardware keyboard, which defeats the point of the small form factor of a phone. Missing support for modifier keys is a big issue when using GUI apps in Libertine, as touch-to-mouse conversion often doesn't behave as it should and can get you 'stuck', so a fallback to keyboard shortcuts is just as necessary there as it may be useful in general: actually, your idea of creating macros for anything seems to solve many problems (including mine) at once, so congrats - now we just need to figure out how! The closest I've found is Ambot Installer: Hacks and Mods, although I need to set up a persistent amd64 QEMU instance on my arm64 laptop before I can allow myself to experiment with it freely (it's the only way I got the installer working). Other tools may be available but I have not been able to surface them yet, I will update this thread as I learn more about the issue and potential solutions. [UPDATE] Here is a list of interesting posts related to this problem, which may be a good starting point for building a bridge towards the solution: These are previous conversations on the repos which appear to have been abbandoned: https://github.com/ubports/keyboard-component/issues/96 gitlab.com/ubports/apps/terminal-app/-/issues/78 https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/lomiri-keyboard/-/issues/96 Instead, here are some useful links related to Malakiboard, which should be a good foundation to build macro functionality on: https://github.com/kugiigi/jerk-click https://github.com/kugiigi/jerk-installer https://github.com/kugiigi/jerk-packages

On Fairphone 4 i also have to do a: sudo chmod 666 /var/run/docker.sock and according to https://clickable-ut.dev/en/latest/install.html sudo snap connect clickable:ssh-keys and sudo snap connect clickable:etc-gitconfig are needed after installing clickable, too. P.S.: *.click package compilation works

I have the same problem, but waiting an hour(s?) did not help on my Poco X3 NFC, with Ubuntu Touch 24.04.0 . I tried both from the Terminal & using Waydroid Helper. If I Ctrl-C the Terminal, I see that Python has been stuck on connect(), i.e. the download never even starts. The only way I can get it to install is manually download the needed images to the right place & then run "waydroid init -f". No idea why, as Android apps can access the network just fine, and sourceforge.net doesn't block me from accessing it (but maybe it blocks Python's default user agent?). But I cannot recommend my solution, because some things like GPS seems broken, but someone else says it should work.

@Ryan_6930 Yes indeed, there is a long dial before the phone call goes through. For me it takes about 20 seconds and then the call goes through. Data and text work well for me. Text message just work right away. If the phone calls would go through right away, I could use this phone as a daily driver or even a backup phone. I see that the new update (Ubuntu touch 24.04) for the pixel 3A XL is now available, so hopefully promising updates will happen soon for VoLTE. That's really only thing that is needed to use this phone more as a daily driver or even a backup phone.

said in Enabling MAC randomization: I'll see how it works. 10 days later, I have not seen any problem running with Mac randomization, and I use Wifi every day. On the 'getting the list of stations' subject, I have noticed something new: when I go to Wifi settings and there is nothing displayed (except the access point the phone is connected to, that is), if in a (ssh) console I enter sudo iw dev wlan0 scan the phone screen displays magically the list that was scanned. I don't know what this could mean, maybe the list is cached somewhere and sometimes the cache is stale and not refreshed automatically or it's something else. The cache hypothesis is confirmed just now, I had left displayed a list of wifi stations, left the phone rest for some time, after unlocking it the list has disappeared. There is a wrinckle though: sometimes entering the refresh command, the reply of the command is 'scan aborted!'. This could also be what happens when it does not work. Unfortunately in both cases, the command is displayed in the system journal, but when something goes wrong nothing more is displayed. Sometimes the list vary from one execution to the next a few seconds later, but maybe it's because it's radio after all. Or there is a too short timeout. More investigation is needed (but I'm not giving up, this is only a follow-up). Last thing: the 'scan' command has a [randomise[=<addr>/<mask>] flag, so the randomization can be at 2 levels (scan and normal use) and can not to be done at the scan level, although I don't see why this could have 2 different results on 2 configuration that seem the same. I don't even know why there are 2 levels in the Mac randomization. The only thing I know for sure is that there are some wifi hardware/firmware/driver (?) that do not support Mac randomization (because I have read it in the configuration files for the FP5) so it could be remotely possible that some configuration don't support the randomization at the scan level while supporting it for normal use.

@fredldotme Nice, though I just logged in to say that I can't test it anytime around. I've lost the phone. It's been a few days so I have no hope getting it back by a chance. I've been thinking in the meantime and decided I'll rather not buy another one anytime soon. I'm still interested in using Ubuntu touch but there are points to address before I'd be happy with it, so I might try to help solving them in VM (or just wait if eventually these got solved...). For now I've set price alerts in my favorite shops, hoping to catch next nice discount

@Escain What android version did the phone come with? V14. I think that the issue was because I setup a fingerprint on Android before I installed UT. After several reboots and I don't know exactly what, it started working. Now, everything except GPS seems to work. Thank you for your help

Maybe this is the wrong place to post this now that 20.04 OTA-11 is already released. If so, pardon me, I'll happily start a new post. Thanks to the team for another Focal release! Unfortunately I have lost the ability to receive SMS since updating to OTA-11 last night. Outgoing SMS works as normal. I've tried rebooting, powering off, etc. I'm using a Oneplus Nord N10, and was updating from OTA-10. VoLTE is not (and can not be) enabled. Both incoming and outgoing MMS also don't work, and while sometimes glitchy, these normally work for me too. I've tried restarting nuntium.service, which normally fixes things if MMS fail to arrive with no notification, as they presently are, but it's not changing anything here. I've also now re-flashed the system, again on 20.04 OTA-11, and no change. Having trouble finding anything relevant under Logviewer - Messages. Any suggestions appreciated. Also, while I'm replying here, I was sorry to hear about the flooding @peat_psuwit, that sounded like a major storm. Thanks for all you do for UT!
