If selected to become the first Norwegian in space, will @mariogrip develop UT from the Moon? šŸ™‚

@carlod Thank you ! More info and detail about the procedure please. With what device did you test ? In what channel does it must work ? (yes i know, test must be in dev but.. šŸ˜‰). Can you run https://earth.nullschool.net/ and make the earth rotate successfully ? It doesn't seem to work on the Volla for me (tested on RC 11...). Should it? Is the browser icon the same ?

Hi folks! Any chance there is anything exciting to report regarding QT upgrades and Pinephone progress or is it on the back burner for a little while still? Thanks!

Mir, Wayland, Lomiri, HAL, Halium HAL, HIDL, libhybris, nuntium... it might be just me, but -and despite your laudable and countless efforts to explain them- my head still spins every time these terms come up. Are there by any chance already architecture diagrams available that explain these components/libraries/frameworks and there interaction? If not, you might consider creating them. Not only to quench the thirst of curious laymen like me, but also to lower the entry threshold for new developers.

Any update or clarification on the work remaining for browser audio playback "in the background"? I think previously it was mentioned this was going to need content hub / media hub development. Again, any updates? Thanks again for the awesome work, team!

Best quality / newest device for approx $150 USD that has the best UT compatibility? I know of the great new devices page, but wondering what devices you devs would go for? Pixel 3a XL has lots of availability and a great price, is that the best bang for the buck these days to run UT as a primary device? My N5 is decent, but getting a bit old.

As I am currently working on extending and improving the porting guide, I thought it might be a good idea to do a survey of the challenges people are meeting with while porting. This could bring to light any common issues that are currently not dealt with in the guide, but should be. However, there is a problem: I am not really sufficiently qualified to make the distinction between what should go into it and what doesn't need to. In other words, I would need to team up with someone to do this. So my question is:

Is there anyone with good knowledge of the porting process who would be willing to assist? I would be happy to do the information gathering, but would need help to ask the right questions and someone would need to look through the responses and help draw conclusions.

@dad_and_alive i gathered some old schemas from Cannonical days, some are still relevant, some may have changed. I agree with you, would be awesome to have some official software stack and architecture overview schemas.

I saw on forum that @Kaizen put an effort to rewrite some but don't know what's the status:

recently was announced by Canonical that Flutter will be the default choice for future Ubuntu apps.
Could this choice be an advantage for UT?
if possible, what obstacles should be addressed before having a working and integrated flutter framework support in UT?

@ubportsnews Any progress on the cameras. My Xperia X goes from working to not working to half green screen from one update to the next. The flash and zoom have never worked. The Pinephone camera doesn't seem to work at all.

@ubportsnews I see there have been some recent updates to the camera application. Does that mean the app has a new maintainer who will be tackling the outstanding problems?
