BlueTooth working devices with UT
-
@libremax I meant, Bluetooth communication (incoming, outgoing calls) technically works...
So next step I'll try the BT music player on those devices. -
With my Nexus 5 I'm able to play music on a JBL Clip 3 and also on my Beats Studio 3.
I don't remember if I tried to use the microphone or be in call on both these devices, I'll come back if I do
On OTA-14 btw -
@libremax I'm glad to confirm that BT music player does perfectly work on both systems (Ford Sync + Seat media).
Sound's just perfect.
Notice: "Unknown artist + unknown track" are displayed on both screens. But this doesn't really matter to me.So, to resume: On both systems:
Working:
. BT initial pairing
. Auto pairing
. Contacts synchronization
. Coverage signal shown on the car screen
. Name of the device well displayed
. Outgoing / incoming calls
. Vocal command
. In car microphone + High speaker
. Phone volume adjustment
. Music via Bluetooth on the car radio
. Auto swap in call modeNot working:
. Battery status display
. In music mode: Displays the track being played
. Phone calls: Loud background noise covering much of the speaker's voice (recipient hears well)Hope I've been this time clearer on my description

Working (can receive calls, calls can be taken, both people can hear and speak) :
Jabra Drive handsfree kit
with OpO (Bacon) OTA15 -

So the thread has now 30 replies, I still suggest strongly to put up a spreadsheet somewhere to list devices by manufacturer and model. If I want to know whats supported I basically must read the whole thread, that becomes harder with every post, just saying

Reading a table, and even worse, typing into a table with a smartphone, is really annoying.
So do that on a laptop or desktop. A table is a logical choice for presenting information that consists of all possible combinations of [UT device] and [BT device].

Yes, but I changed my mind about the utility of "combinations of [UT device] and [BT device]" because it's totally unrealistic to get a significant and usefull part of it.
I think that a single testimony of good functioning per BT device is better than nothing and that the precision concerning the smartphone and its OS version are to be given as an indication.
So, no need of table and no need to "read the whole thread", just look at the top listing and click on the BT device name, if you want to know about smartphone model and OS version.

I'd like to add to the list that i've tested a VollaPhone with UT, on a Peugot 5008, Skoda Octavia and a Fiat Ducato.
All media systems recognized and paired with the phone. Everything worked just fine. -
Tested on Volla I can add:
- LG G Watch R (smartwatch) - syncing nicely, including notifications, via "Telescope" app
Tested on Volla, Meizu Pro 5, OnePlus One:
- iClever BK-05 (folding keyboard)
- iClever BK-08 (folding keyboard / touchpad)
Best regards,
Steve Berson -
Tested on Vollaphone:
Jabra Elite 45e in ear BT headset.
Calls work, listening to music/podcasts work, volume up/down works, pause doesn't. (that or i haven't found that yet).
Small update: it seems that, if you listen to music and there's a call coming in, after you hung up, the headset still "thinks" you're calling. I.e. the mic is working, the music keeps playing in the background, but doesn't come back to the front. For now, it seems that rebooting the phone does the trick. That or, stopping the (default) music player and start over again.

But your Alcatel Go Flip 3 is not running Ubuntu Touch, I guess ?

Do certain bluetooth speakers not work? I connected my nexus 6p to my bose headphones once but i havent been successful with it after i tried it a couple times again
-
@unrealb2
The goal of this topic is to keep track of working devices and their limitations.
Bluetooth is not well supported yet by UT and thus it's a bit of watch and learn. If your device is not on the list then the answer is : we don't know. -
@libremax
You can add Harman Kardon AVR-171 home cinema amplifier and CitroΓ«n C4 Cactus audio car system.Tested working (music stream) with my MX4.

CitroΓ«n C4 Cactus audio car system
Is there only one system available for this car? I ask because often there are a low spec and a premium option for car audio systems...
-
@applee
Yes, Cactus car system is the same for all models, at least "phase 1" and "phase 2" models.Central tablet with almost all car systems (audio, gps, air conditionning... Etc) on it.
