Halium 7.1 Test Channel

@loops I can use the phone. The crazyness dissapears after restart. I'm not shure that this is caused by the hardware. It was a period when devel worked well.
-
@marius-ciclistu You could test the hardware by returning to Android temporarily.
-
@cliffcoggin
Also by switching to Stable.
There is no such issue reported AFAIK.If different SW and same behavior then it is probably HW related.
-
@applee Stable also has this crazyness. I will not change the rc or swich channel anymore, until halium reaches stable. In the past I remember I uploaded a video when reporting this.
-
@marius-ciclistu The problem is you seem to be the only one with this and if I remember correctly your screen has been changed. Can you check the connection to the screen are firm inside the OPO? One last thing is there a screen protector on? If so take that off.
-
@marius-ciclistu Also see this for replacement screen https://forums.ubports.com/topic/4884/op3-help-needed
-
@lakotaubp yes, I use glass screen protection.
-
@lakotaubp I don't have the behavior from that post.
PS. If the phone is in my pochet and I receive a call, sometimes the screen becomes unresponsive. Also, sometimes, when in a call with loudspeacker on, the crazyness happens.
The crazyness apears more often with some versions and less often with others. -
@marius-ciclistu As others have said this does sound like something related to your phone. Testing the original OS might rule out stuff but for you to have issues accross various update channels is very odd. I am running my OPO all day today so will let you know how it goes.

I don't think that's the behavior to consider here, but the fact that some cheap screens replacement could lead to some behaviors.
-
@keneda I agree. I don't know about the scren's quality. All I know is that I searched almost a year for one opo to swich away from android.
-
@marius-ciclistu
For now you could do check what @Lakotaubp said :@lakotaubp said in Halium 7.1 Test Channel:

@marius-ciclistu One day and no issues with OPO. Only one call, but all ok and email and sms. Will try one more day when at work just incase but all looks good to me.
-
@lakotaubp Thanks. Until I'll find another OPO or OP3T or VollaPhone, I'm happy with this one now that has a full working camera (except stable at the moment). I use it as a daily phone since I made my profile here (aug 2020).

It is not listed. It can be viewed only via link.

@marius-ciclistu Pesonally I would go for the OP3 if you are in no rush, or even a OP 5 which is in testing at the minute but should hopefully be on the installer soon https://forums.ubports.com/category/53/oneplus-5-5t

@flohack Hello! I tried this on my OPO and on the whole it works great, but I did run into a few hitches:
- NetworkManager and SSH don't start on boot anymore, so I had to add the following to
/etc/rc.local
:
/etc/init.d/network-manager start service ssh restart
- My phone defaults to
2G only (saves battery)
option for the cellular Connection Type, which results in me getting no cellular andDenied
until I change it to the2G/3G/4G
option. I'm not sure how to force it to use2G/3G/4G
by default, so I guess I will have to set it manually on every boot which is a bit inconvenient.

@abmyii Humm thats very weird, both things I did not experience, and should not happen at all...
-
@flohack I have had the NetworkManager problem for a while - since ~202012 IIRC (can't remember the exact version - sorry), but the SSH and cellular problems are new.
