Let's hope not more expensive than FP4 at launch, and a partnership with UBports ?
-
@Keneda I've been wanting to get an 8GB variant of FP4 since 6GB isn't really enough for my usage but now I'm thinking maybe I should wait for this and hopefully there will be a variant higher than 8GB. However, I'm sure it'll take a long time before UT becomes usable on it.

Yes, as it will be shipped with android 13, i guess halium 13 need to be done before.
But if there is a partnership between UBports and Fairphone for the 5 maybe it can be done more quickly ^^ -

quickly
Before a Fairephone 5 with UT, I would like a stable focal 2 then 3 quickly. And when I use the word quickly, I don't know what to think....

@Keneda Still waiting for UT to arrive on my FP5, but at least PmOS seems to make progress on it and the wiki page also claims that there is someone working on a UT port:

It's still a smartphone, for more computing power I ask you to use the crank of the Bigtouer PC, and hope that Windows 95 starts

@poVoq
Yes there is an ongoing UT port for FP5, but, as I understood reading the forum, the porter got personal problems.Personally, I may have to go for /e/os as my Nexus 5 is dying, if UT port for FP5 is not ready before my N5 dies.

Hi @poVoq
Well, there were many factors that contributed to a lack of progress in 2024 for the Fairphone 5.
But recently work had resume and progress have been made.
It is still not ready to release to the public but developers are working on it, so -
@AppLee Nice to hear. I finally got around getting a Lapdock and it works great with the FP5, just Android desktop mode isn't great at all compared to UT.

@poVoq
FP5 UT port is out now, on the installer, dev channel only for now. -
