@oldbutndy In Ubuntu Touch, all "About This Device" tells me is "OneplusN10". Looking up IMEI didn't yield anything specific about model #.
Anyway, ... so I presume it's BE2026. Happy to check further if you know how.

[hours ago I reinstalled Android 12 on my Pixel 3A XL, so I don't have a UT phone I can try at the moment]

I just Googled how to find it when running UT, and it suggested this:

Alternative Ways to View Model Information
If the graphical settings do not provide the specific "BE2026" string, you can find it via the terminal or external tools:
Ubuntu Touch Tweak Tool: Install this app from the OpenStore. Under the System Info section, it provides more granular hardware details than the standard settings app.

Terminal Commands: Open the Terminal app and enter the following to see raw device information:
getprop ro.product.model: Specifically for Android-based ports, this command often returns the exact model number like BE2026.

Please let me know if either of these work.
        Thank You.

I don't understand why they even care where you bought it. Unlocking bootloader factory resets the device right?
It's not like you're using it to access data from a stolen device..And you'll need access on the device to even allow unlocking 😅

@oldbutndy @vverve I posted a link in the PM you tagged me in that shows OP support is variable and you should try it more than once

On my previous phone purchases (6 google Pixels, to install 5 LineageOS & 1 UT), I was aware I needed to buy 'Factory Unlocked', and not originally sold by Verizon or AT&T, because they refused to unlock bootloaders.
My guess is that, at least partly, they realize that by installing 3rd party firmware, we extend the life of the device and put off buying new ones.
I read what I could find regarding Oneplus, and it looked as though, as long as carrier was unlocked (which implied phone paid off), then Oneplus would unlock bootloader (for T-mobile sold models).
I discovered that, at least in my case (BE2028), not always true.
[Since this failure, I searched info for other possible UT candidates, and read that Xiaomi is less helpful for unlocking lately].
I also discovered (sadly for this UT project) there are far more 'factory unlocked' Pixels available used than Nord N10's !

@oldbutndy Maybe you can ask kindly oneplus to review your request.

Hi, I did this indirectly, via many polite, positive emails stating, for instance, that I owned 6 old Pixels (all easy bootloader unlock), an iPhone, and had read good things over many years about Oneplus since launch of Oneplus 1.
So, I was enthusiastic about finally TRYING a Oneplus. But N10 is old & no longer supported by them.
The original support tech replied a few times (usually less than 24 hours), then bumped it up to a higher level.
That higher level person stated something like 'This is Oneplus final ...'.
So, I gave up on this specific phone (BE2028).
But not completely on Oneplus (if I can find a BE2026).

@oldbutndy The terminal command worked. Confirmed, mine is BE2026. All I had to do to unlock was the standard android developer mode and such, no Oneplus, no code.

(the UT Tweak Tool also yielded results, but fell one character short. "Device name: PRETTY_HOSTNAME=BE202"😂)

Thank You ! I have set up ebay search to notify me if a BE2026 shows up.

@oldbutndy You also have other options coming - there are two OP 8/T/ Pro ports in progress.

Check on their progress before buying, but US unlocked models are 1N2015, 1N2025, KB2005.

They also have PostmarketOS builds. They are all 5G phones that share the same processor - SD865

@oldbutndy Well , i 've ask oneplus if their policies changed , as they did it one time for me with an ebay device, a got no answer yet ...
still , money rule ,over e-waste reduction .

Curious of an ebay chinese refurbished seller answer as to know if he can get the bootloader unlock before shipping , there is few out there , cheapest is US $92.69.

                          Excellent news. Thank you !
I just did specs search, and OP 8 series has faster CPU than my Pixel 4XL, and the Pro model has higher LCD resolution.
Also, OP 8 has external WIRED display up to 4K @ 30Hz (good enough for occasional Desktop Convergence type work). NO Pixel lower than 8 supports wired external display, & it is feeble via DisplayLink HDMI box.
So, it might be nice if OP8 running UT does it well.

Is it considered polite to ask developer of status at the moment - such as what things working or NOT ?
Or which things might be really difficult to get working (meaning farther into future, if at all ) ?
I am NOT asking for delivery date (I know that is #1 rule at LineageOS).

@oldbutndy Yes, it's. That usually happens in one of the Telegram threads, but you can ask in the linked forum post as well.

OP 6/6T is also being revived by Ruben (OP N10/N100 porter).

OK. Thank you.. I guess I need to create a comparison chart. Looks like all the Oneplus have 5G, for starters.
