@saveurlinux Thanks. Yes, I have tried that. If I am lucky, I get an error message... [image: roh0d6P]

@EvilHare said in Launching waydroid shell on Redmi Note 9 Pro: @arubislander Ah, well then ok. I just thought there was a problem with my device or something I was doing wrong. I solved the problem for myself. I connected via adb to my device using the instructions: https://docs.ubports.com/ru/latest/userguide/advanceduse/adb.html. Then, inside the device, I launched the waydroid shell without any problems

I upgraded to the latest waydroid images and faced the same issue. Executing sudo sed -i '/aidl/s/2/3/' /etc/gbinder.d/anbox.conf after making rootfs writable did solve it. (like described in the thread posted above)

Hi @homer There is this: https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/systemdev/index.html Most documentation is there @ docs.uports.com At least the documentation I know of. The rest is diluted in the aether of internet forums and chat rooms as well as in people's brains.

@picrard I uninstalled and reinstalled many times without success, I think that the problem lies with the Waydroid image itself, so reinstalling just re-added the problem each time. I have no idea if it has been fixed in the meantime. What I did to fix it, and I have since used this to fix other Waydroid problems. Is simply download an older Waydroid image from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/waydroid/files/images/ You have to download both a system and a vendor image, I assume from the same date. I used one from May 2022. Make sure you have Waydroid installed, and then simply delete the existing images from the folder: /var/lib/waydroid/images/ There should be a system.img and a vendor.img in there. Delete those and copy over the system.img and vendor.img you downloaded into that folder. You can use the command line or the File Manager to do that. Then just start Waydroid. All your setings and files in Waydroid should still be there.

Thanks @chris for the link to the MS page about use of other authenticator apps instead of the MS app. But from what I understood from our IT department, it's like @dobey wrote and they'll not allow other apps. Hopefully, there will still be other apps or methods working. Or I'll try MS Authenticator in Waydroid.
