RSS Reader

@elastic you're welcome. Which xenial channel are you using? Did you removed Browser Next already?
-
@advocatux Iām on RC and as far as I can say there is only Morph on the system - never hat next installed an morph came with the upgrade to xenial ...
-
@elastic perfect then. I have one device running rc, and the other one running devel and I'm seeing a lot of Morph improvements daily, so maybe that external link issue will get fixed in the next rc update

So for me shorter is working quite well... I have to push the sync button, but then it syncs the feeds as expected.
-
@hummlbach mmh, not for me - always error messages... Same for added feeds and the default one...
-
@elastic Same for me. It just won't work.
-
jup, shorter has issues. no https. no atom. @hummlbach if your feed needs are covered with http and rss, youre probably part of a lucky minority
-
@doniks ah okay thanks for clarifying... not using it that much nowadays, but it fully fulfilled my wishes some time ago Do we have an issue tracker for shorter? With the removal of the beloved rss/news whatever scope we imho should have at least one good working native rss reader app... not that anyone would have time for it, but nonetheless lets open an issue tracker?

wow nice, it seems I'm two steps behind...
-
@mardy has published https://open-store.io/app/it.mardy.ttrss right now
-
@elastic another option is to use an RSS bot in Telegram or Matrix

Hi,
For scope app, is there anything more than build again the app with updated SDK ? (if not will try to do this weekend as well as upload code on github)Also if you have any feature request for the rss scope, feel free i will try to do my best.

@elastic said in RSS Reader:
[...] just external links are not opening - same with most Webapps I tried since I migrated to 16.04 [...]
That's been solved in dev channel, soon in rc channel -
After some delays, finally updated : https://open-store.io/app/rssreaderscope.kazord
In order to apologize for the waiting, i added an import feeds feature (from an OPML online file) -
I have installed your RSS Reader Scope and I really love that function and it is one of the most used on my phone.
I was wondering why scopes are still useable in 16.04. Now I read here that rest-scope-functionalities will be deleted with coming OTA 8: (see chapter What's Next?) https://ubports.com/pt_PT/blog/ubports-blog-1/post/ubuntu-touch-ota-7-release-192
Probably your RSS Reader Scope will than not be useable anymore?! If so - could you develop an app out of it?

Standalone app is here : https://open-store.io/manage/simplestrss.kazord

Awesome! RSS Reader is one of the things I really used in scopes and now that it'll be removed soon, I was looking for an RSS reader. Sadly most I tried are not working so I'm happy I found something working. Good job! Keep it up!
