      HI,

I use Lezyne app on android to connect to me GPS for cycling. This app allows my to send routes to the GPS and records the data of rides so I can save them. Is there another app or way I can use this on Ubuntu touch as this is the only thing stopping my changing over to it.

      Many thanks

At a quick glance: Lezyne seems to have a web page - https://www.lezyne.com/gpsroot/gps_login.php - so it ought to be possible to build web app for it using the Webapp Creator app. HTH

@matt333 There is also activity tracker you can have a look at.
It allows you to record a track for your activity.
But no way that I know of to load a gpx file to guide you... It's only for recording and consulting the saved track...

Activity Tracker supports importing GPX files. Main issue with UT's location though is that the app using the location service should always be in the foreground and the screen not locked. Obviously this isn't ideal because of battery drain but it does work.

I've done a ride using my bq E5 with lowest brightness and it survived around 6 hours and the result is fine.
Although like I said, I did not use that phone with anything else πŸ™‚

Oh and about predefined routes, Activity Tracker doesn't currently support it.

I think pure maps allows you to load a GPX for direction. Never tested it.

I just did, it has the option to open a GPX file, but the file browser doesn't see the contents of /home/phablet. Must be a permission issue.

@normandc Please report this on the PureMaps issue tracker so they can see it and implement it in the future. Thanks πŸ™‚

Looks like content hub hasn't been integrated into the app and it's still using the standard file dialog which obviously won't work.

Hehe Even I've managed to make a couple of webapps, so it can't be categorized as difficult at all!

It basically amounts to bunging in the web address that you want to go to, and then finding a nice icon for the app. I think there are some nobs and whistles if you need it to do other things, but I haven't gone that far.

Anyway... I would encourage you to download the app and have a go... It's the only way to see if it'll do enough of what you need it to do. Good luck!

Just to mention, TELEports will have full location share and receive options with upcoming 0.5 release πŸ™‚
