I was concerned that the tiny Nexus 5 micro USB port would be damaged when attached to a stiff cable. Then I discovered that Nexus 5 has wireless charging capability as an Android device. Is that feature still enabled as a UT device? I am considering this charger

It's a feature of the hardware. UT doesn't change anything that would disable it.

@cliffcoggin I would just double check that one works with your device. If not there should be some available on e**y or such.

              Wireless charging works for me.
The coil is in the back cover so if you've changed it or have an alternate one maybe the feature is gone with it.

Then I guess any wireless charger should work.

I also was worried about wearing my micro usb port out, I tried the wireless charging too, it worked ok but was slower and the back case got quite hot, I was concerned about the heat and looked for alternatives.

I found a better solution was to use a magnetic usb cable, they are available all over the place and you get the bonus of being able to do data transfers as well, so I have ordered extra for all my phones.

I get questions about it like "what sort of phone have you got there?" Oh I say it's not apple or android , its an Ubuntu Touch phone!

The wireless charger arrived and it seems to be ideal. I don't care if it is slow (25% gained in three hours,) as I can leave it on charge overnight. It was remarkably cheap at only £3 including postage.

charger.png In the image, the charger that I use (the power supply needs at least 1.5 amperes) can be found on eBay on Aliexpress and on Ozon. I don’t sell them, I just bought it at the Auchan supermarket [0_1592905087768_charger.png](Загрузка 100%)

@Keneda No, I chose at a price of 189 rubles, this is somewhere $ 2.75 and for suitable characteristics (5 watts)

The tiny cheap charger I initially bought was awkward to get centred on the phone for reliable power induction, but it proved the concept of wireless charging, so I changed for something more reliable set in a stand which ensured correct alignment every time.
