Developers sponsorship: I want to order an app (that means paying for it)!

And Github is owned by Microsoft, and delete asked by RIAA.
Google has nothing to do with this.Sources can be hosted anywhere else, and are still available on dev site : https://youtube-dl.org/
Freedom of the Press Foundation condemned this move from github, for good reasons.
-
It was removed following the youtube complaints, so... I've tried other desktop apps that use youtube-dl and they are still working.

RIAA is not youtube...
https://www.riaa.com/Youtube can remove vidΓ©os from users on RIAA demands.
Youtube can't make Github remove anything from their repos, i don't even know if youtube is RIAA member.
(edit : they are not https://www.riaa.com/about-riaa/riaa-members/ )Just read this : https://github.com/github/dmca/blob/master/2020/10/2020-10-23-RIAA.md

Hello guys, I have received the approval certificate for the pinephone to be able to release it from customs.

@johangm90
Great news.
It took some time but the important think is that it will be in your hands soon. -

Some news about youtube-dl.
Repos restored on github as it does NOT brake any DRM.
It was an abusive RIAA request.https://www.theregister.com/2020/11/16/github_restores_youtubedl/

I just updated the app i test it in my pinephone but there is a bug with the content hub but i was able to fix any other problem with the export and it should work in my case i have to copy the files from the app download location:
/home/phablet/.local/share/vulgry.johangm90/Downloads/ but the pinephone is unable to play the videos that i have downloaded i dont know why. -
@johangm90 Thank you for your efforts.
As far as I'm concerned nothing works yet, because when downloading, what is downloaded in mp4 extension is NOT an mp4 file: file much too small! (Added .txt after .mp4 and read the content of the file with document viewer).
For example, what is downloaded for this link :
https://vimeo.com/6959367
is
8,3 kb for a mp4 file !!
For me, seen same thing on Pinephone Dev, BQ E5 HD and OPO OTA-14. -

There's no plugin to use hardware decoding for proprietary/encumbered codecs on the Pinephone, so they won't work currently. I'm also noto sure if the hardware even has decoding/encoding support for such formats. There's also not any easy/reliable way to add additional plugins for software codec support yet.

@johangm90 Holly 5h17!! Your latest update on Vulgry works on my Nexus5. I have managed to download an audio of 1 hour. I think all depends on the link. In my case I just searched something and tried it!
-
@C0n57an71n yep this is definitely a Linux discussion
