@Flohack
to your topic printing-work by canonical/ota3?......for me, pdf printing is all i need
is there a reference- printer to deal with?
i only ask because working with printer-drivers is often a neverending story. or would we send in future printjobs by this way over halium/googleprint? so the workload on drivers could, maybee be outsourced to company google/googleprint. -
@mike Currently it has some cups stuff inside, Andrew Hayzen has the details. Dont ask me, did not look what printers are supported

what do you think about this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FYbtyweMs8Looks good!
-
@Flohack Thinking in print, cups client was my 1st idea as well, esp. for PDF, and the CUPS backends for LPD and socket can print to nearly any device w/o needing any Win* driver.
-
@Josué so cool and useful !
-
@Josué so this cool feature will actually be in OTA3? Cause now that is shiny
-
Maybe it was already discussed, but capability to work (and have easy way to install without need to enabling write mode on the system) linux desktop apps, like any other distro (would prefer if straight from debian) especially for PC mode
-
It would be working notifications for me
-
Would anybody else be interested in the swype keyboard? I used to love that on my meego!

Tweak wifi refresh interwall. Default setting is ~2mins like in PC Ubuntu and you get to connect wifi faster by turning it off and on again. 30sec would be ideal.
Also when you receive SMS or any other notification you shouĺd see that tab first when you pull it down.
Remove that annoying "SD card found" notification when you boot up.
These are small fixes that shouldn't be too much of a task to do, and i think many would agree with me.
-
Increase the time notifications pop-ups last on screen, now they close too fast and sometimes it's hard to read them before they close. Also: increase the font size to make it easier to read them.

@doniks yep, I actually have that scope but it is necessary to have "big" computer AFAIK with ubuntu and process is not what could be described as easy one

gsettings set com.canonical.qtmir lifecycle-exempt-appids
Very strange this. This doesn't work on my Nexus 4 with the canonical image, but on my Nexus 5 with the ubports image i used the UT tweak GUI which seems to do exactly the same but works. Is this maybe only working on the ubports images?

Having extended work with SIM though GUI would be nice (turning on/off the GSM, being possible to not send number when calling so receiver will not see it, etc)
-
+1 for updated browser ( possibly better webgl support on aquaris 4.5)
+1 for nextcloud/owncloud sync of calendar and contacts)
aethercast for aquaris 4.5 ( also possible in future OTA) -
@RandomUser Have you tried this recent app?
-
@Anne017 Yes, tried it at release. It just didn't exist yet when I made my comment :-).

Thanks to Marius we now have System wide adblocker for ubuntu touch: https://uappexplorer.com/app/uadblock.mariogrip
Indeed. It should be upgraded to a core app showing up next to the browser icon in the next update, i think.
