Due to the huge mass of new devices incoming we are about to create separate subforums for each device, like on XDA. This will hopefully help to get things more organized. Please start new threads only there!

Please take note of the above message from @Flohack and from today post all new questions under your specific device here https://forums.ubports.com/category/46/devices if your device is not listed then continue to use Support until it is.

Fair enough, but why list Devices under Porting rather than Support?

I agree, it's confusing because normally we're not allowed to ask for support on the porting section.

          Will the "support" section desappear?

Will you add all devices to the list, legacy included?

A good question. We should think about whats the best, I personally have no feelings where it would be better. Maybe even a highlevel "Devices" section would make sense.

              Hi, @flohack

I wrapped my head around this for some times.
I also don't have a strong opinion about it, but I think that moving them into a main high level "Devices" category makes sense.

And if an issue raised for a specific device tends out to be a general issue then moderators can move it to "Support" and update the title to remove the device name.

Device Support with subsections and General Support maybe to cover app issues, non specific device issues etc ? Whichever way we go no firm opinion as yet other than Porting does feel odd after initail work is done, but device specific subsections are great.

Yeah lets move that folder structure to top level devices, because we can move stuff around between Support and that. Devices can also cover support, as well as general device discussions. Its more like XDA then πŸ˜›

I tried to imagine searching for help without any prior knowledge of the menu structure. Logically I would expect to find established devices under Support. I assume, perhaps wrongly, that Porting was for development on new devices.

@cliffcoggin Yeah the idea was that Porting is for developer discussions. So yeah, lets move that elsewhere, I still think top level devices would be better than substructure of Support, to make it more visible.
