'crazy Volla'

Hello,
I had the same problem with ghost touches on my Volla phone. The support advices me to wash the display. I did and it did not help. They asked me to send it to the service. I did and I spent quite high shipment expenses. I hoped they replace my display. Unfortunately, they returned me the device sauing they washed the display and reflashed the software. I did not believe any of these could fix the problems, so I put the phone into the shelf and do not us it any more. I thought it was because they would like to save the money for display replacement in warranty, but as I read this tread further, they probably even have the replacement parts? Really worth byuing such device.
Regarding the bluetooth, I have quite different problems. It was working like a charm with BQ Aquaris phone with my Volkswagen, but I was not able to pick the phone when using Volla. If I did it on the phobe, the remote party was able to hear me, but I was hearing the ringing in my car still. Even the latest software does it like this.
Very strange.

@musicologist Some users reported in the Volla forums that it was caused by some SIM cards (e.g. https://forum.volla.online/viewtopic.php?p=5791#p5791 ). Can you test drive your Vollaphone without the SIM card and see if the ghost touches go away?

The thread you mention is related to Volla x23. These complains are related to Volla phone. Apparently german customers get phone replacement or display replacement in warranty. Not so for us, second category customers getting only display washing and software reflash as a warranty service.
I did not use the phone as a daily driver since repair and had not any SIM in it since then. But I used it only maybe for 30 minutes since that time. So even I have not hit the ghost touch issues since return from service it is very hard to confirm ir is repaired. It was not so frequent even before the sevice. I personally doubt it is repaired. I also doubt the issue is related to SIM cards. I used the phone for more than year before the issue started with the same SIM cards.
I was so upset by the Volla approach to the service I bought Siemens phone complementary to Volla 22 phone, reflashed it using Volla 22 ubports image and I do not observe any ghost touches using the same SIM cards I used in Volla phone.

@grepo I understand that you are angry about the service. By Siemens, you probably mean Gigaset GS5?
-
@sven
I am not 100% sure, but the Siemens GS5 is probably the one. -
@grepo
Gigaset is a Siemens brand. -

Yes, back then ...
But Gigaset was sold 16 years ago -
Yes sorry for that. I was aware Gigaset is not any more part of the Siemens, but my synapses somehow revived interconnections. I did not even noticed I duplicated the fault second time. Hmm, it is 16 years already? I am too old

@sven , following your advice, I removed the SIM card and restarted the vollaphone. The problems did not go away. I restarted again and tested again in a time of about 24 hours. The result was that the problems did not go away.
Now I use my vollaphone with the SIM card again. But I really must find a solution, because as time goes on the phone gets more and more unusable. -
Did you get in touch with Volla about this issue?
If I'm not mistaken some people reported a screen swap and it seemed to have worked... -
This is strange with Crazy Volla. My X23 has repeatedly caused problems. Maybe once a week. In summer on holiday it was much more often. For months now I have had a gark problem.
-
@Charly
sorry mistake I wanted to write since month I have absolutly no problem. -
sorry I write on the mobile phone in german...
Unfortunately, the keyboard and translation repeatedly errors are created.Again. Since months I have no problem with crazy volla.
-
Hi @AppLee , yes, I wrote a mail and got an answer yesterday.
They say that these screens are not available anymore and that a screens swap would cost 120 Euros anyway. They also wrote that I can get a new Volla with 20 % discount on the regular price. But I think, they are not really addressing this problem and I do not want to have the same problem again in about 1 or 2 years.
-
@Charly , this problem seems not to happen to every volla. So, if I understand you correctly: you had these problems and they went away for months now?
-
@musicologist I have a volla X and I had the same problem (applications that open by themselves, keyboard that has a life of its own...) a long time ago. One day it stopped happening. Just like that. I've been without problems for a couple of years. I don't contribute anything, but I don't know why it happened or why it didn't happen.

Yes, over a period of one year. In the beginning usually 1-2 times a week. Wasn't nice, but I could live with it. There were always periods where there were fewer problems. Then about 4 months ago on holiday (walking in the mountains in Austria) I had it about two times a day. Then actually no longer. In between, there was ota-5 and now 6. Maybe the software has solved the problem or it occurs especially with a certain use? Just Crazy that describes it quite well.

I'm going to be paranoid Maybe the crazy Volla is due to its takeover because of the newly discovered security issues ? cf new OTA-7 coming soon.
